Despite my enjoyment of this series, despite the depth of this story, despite the interesting and clever characters...I just can't score it higher because I disliked the ending THAT much. What a pity.

Beware some people give it a low rating because the girl they like didn't get selected, ignore those and give this a chance, it get dragged near the end nevertheless I don't hate the ending.

Straight to the point, I liked it a lot.
The premise is nothing like any other stuff around and is very well executed.
Even though the plot might be linear at the beginning it somewhat thickens gradually until the end. Some might say it drags, but i didn't see a single chapter wasted.
For what I have read in other commentaries, there where some that didn't like the ending (they simply had another expectations), but for me it was a plausible ending and the most important it was satisfying.
I'm not going to use this space to do a very long rant about the situations revolving the story, and try to delve into the mind of the character and why he did what he did, so I'm simply going to tell you if this worth your time or not, and definitely, this does.

Wakaki Tamiki I want everyone to know you messed up big time.To betray the feelings of your readers,so shamelessly.I want to save as many people as possible from this epic dissapointment.
TWGOK was always about people having different values and beliefs struggling against reality.Acknowledging a world bigger than Keima was what this series has been about.
This ending is basically saying that people like Stephen Hawking don't exist in real life. This is the mind of every Chihiro shipper in a nutshell.
This manga would COMPLETELY TRASH on everything else just to get Chihiro and Keima to happen.
Not even mass effect's original ending could compare with the travesty of storytelling that is this. You thinks Eva's ending did not make sense?Wait till you see this one!
1.The reason why she loved him was that she wanted to shine with him.I guess a girl is not allowed to shine on her own....It kind of makes the moment where she let go of Keima at 189 meaningless don't you think. She was Keima first love and it should have been that way.And Keima only developed romantic feelings for her cause of his guilt.
2.Elsie becoming human. Not even an animal could write this badly.
It takes skill to undo two years, heck 6 years worth of effort in 3 chapters. If Elsie is not a demon,TWGOK would have never happened in the first place.Whatever forced Wakaki's hand really....
3.Satyr.
Well lets make them less of a threat than Fiore was.
4.Keima
He treats those he met as means to an end.Shunning them for Chihiro.Heck, he is even worse than chpt 1.I wanted to see him be more caring and less self-centred.Even the hardcore otakus probably wouldn't be this cold. You may or may not love them but to just leave them like that....Even Chpt 1 keima had some of the basics of respect.
5.Tenri
Well, I never got to see her coming of age story. That sendoff was pretty stupid.A lame attempt to give her some development .Telling someone to move on does not mean you dealt with it.
6.Chihiro
While you shippers to this day continue to preach the gospel of "normal".Nobody never really gave a damn about her own personal story.Wakaki's biggest fail.At least with every other girl they got to show their individually.I wonder what is worse, moe and the anime industry or a normal girl reduced to a blank-slate self insert.
To Old Hell with TWGOK's most trashy pairing.

It is more subtle than one would expect from a "harem" series. I do believe that it dragged for too long during the beginning of the final arc (I actually stopped reading and only restarted when I saw the series was completed). For the ending I agree with the points that Rolan made, it is really easy to root for your favorite girl, but the one he chose makes sense for KEIMA.
And that is why I love this ending. It also doesn't hurt that she was the one I rooted for the most because her and
Sadly, the pacing was really off towards the end, a combination of too slow, and too fast at all the wrong parts.

This is a guy who thought all girls in the real world had nothing to compare (looks, personality, charm) to video game girls. Game girls sparkled, and real girls were so dull. This is _especially_ true for during his capture of Chihiro way back when. He considered her no better than a mob character. Everything about her is middling and average. For Keima, it is a brilliant coupling since by the end of the series, he obviously cares about "real life". Compared to the other captures, who tended to have more extreme personality types/goddesses, he goes for the girl that is as normal as can be (no special powers, no dark/sad past, not extremely ambitious)
And that is why I love this ending. It also doesn't hurt that she was the one I rooted for the most because her and

had the best rapport with him in their interactions. I think Wakaki planned this coupling (or had an idea of it) from the get go.Sadly, the pacing was really off towards the end, a combination of too slow, and too fast at all the wrong parts.
Whatever I say, whatever I think, I just like the ending.

The end of "The World Only God Knows" was more than satisfactory for me, I know that the fans were cheering for their favorite girl, but maybe I was one of few cheering for the happiness of "Keima" the main character.
If you saw the title of the last episode of season three, it's called "Flag. 12.0 The Memory of My First Love", it was clear that Keima liked Chihiro, he didn't know at first, but you can guess from what he said, he knew or maybe felt that Chihiro didn't have a Goddess in the middle of her second capture. However, he continued on, he didn't know at that time why he did that, despite his devotion in what he does and his pseudo cold bloodedness in every capture he set on, but this one was "different", this one was not only Chihiro's second capture, it was "his and her capture,"
He just earned for love like every boy of his age, but he figured it the truth at the end. That's why he hurt the girl he loves, he lied to her, he pushed her because unfortunately ... He didn't have the time to play girlfriend/boyfriend, he didn't have the time to love or be loved, the fate of the world was just more important than his own feelings.
For me his tears at the end of season three, the way the screen of his favorite games were shut down at the last scene of season three, the breakdown that he got on "Heart of Jupiter Arc" in the middle of Kaori Yuuzaki's pseudo-capture were clear signs of his pain. That's why I'm more than happy for him and more than happy for that "Ending".

Truly love this manga. The story was pretty solid with every arcs. Although the ending feels rushed actually. It would have been better if they at least consider to build the ending romance a bit further. But well, that's that, overall this manga is great.

This manga was solid for every arc, except the last.
The ending seems extremelly rushed, characters don't get disclosure, plotholes get handwaved...
Do yourself a favor and read ultil all the goddesses are shown, then quit. The manga issomewhat solid up to that point.

after that the plot gets dragged on, goes into ridiculous directions and the author downright forgets everything that made the previous 105 chapters a success. Laclongquan hit the nail on the head with his explanation about the ending. I'm honestly pissed that I read till 185 whereas I should have stopped when the manga had peaked. I skipped to the last 2 chapters and I have no intention of reading through the rest. Talk about another disappointing middle and ending.
The ending is kinda peter out somehow

I get that logic drive the ending. But the intensity is just watery. prolly because we invest too much in other girls, and when he choose that one (or anyone) it become kinda lost for us.
The mangaka should do one more chapter. An epilogue or something like that, with the usual intensity.
EDIT: Now that I have more time to think about it, this mangaka has something in common with Rowling. Both want to enforce their endings to readers, thus making readers' interest just peter out~ No wonder they cant make anything more worthwhile after that, since we really dont care about theirs work anymore.
