i think its a sweet story line with surprises. which is why its a bit confusing at first. to be honest if any of this went faster ppl would be saying that it was "too fast". It's only natural for an author to have some similarities between characters in manga. When someone creates a character and writes about them for so long, it's as if the characters themselves are real. You can feel that as you read their manga. So in short don't hate on a manga when you havn't finished it or you are comparing it to another. they are different, that all their is. Anyways, I love the characters and plot. Recommend!

I don't know what to rate this yet, as I have only read to chapter 11 right now.
But here is what I do know at the moment: (if you haven't read, may contain a little spoilers)
I have NO idea what is going on. The fact that she is suddenly so obsessed/crazy about chihiro is just...WTH? I'd understand if she was curious and stuff, but suddenly in love? o.O ? And chihiro's personality is not understandable at all. And I may still be too early to say, but I have no idea what the storyline is heading at. Nor do I understand the significance of the stars yet. And I do not know if it is the translators' fault (sorry if I offend) or Takaya really said things the way they translated it, but I just don't get some of the things that are said in the manga. Really.
But because this is a Takaya Natsuki's work, creator of Fruits Basket, I know that there is some deeper meaning in the manga, and I will keep reading to see if I can understand it better later. But at this point, I'm just clueless and somewhat bored.

The manga's got a nice tone, not too suspenseful but not boring either. It's got a complex plot, which I love in manga. There's another stupid heroine, but she's got her good points too. Also, everyone's not in love with her and/or singing her praises like Tohru in Fruits Basket. I love the art, characters, and story- what else is there in a good manga? Yes, the pace is a very slow, but I'll forgive it since everything else is so well done. A bonus: it's not too predictable. So many questions, so many very possible answers...it hooks the reader right away! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I don't understand why everyone is comparing Hoshi wa Utau with Furuba- for one thing, it's about a completely different subject matter and does not have any fantasy elements!!
Please try and consider this manga seperately and give time for the plot to unfold. Try not to judge it by the mangaka's previous and more famous work!
Okay, enough of my rant there...but seriously people!!
I believe this manga ahs a alot of potential and I like the way how in each chapter we discover something new about each character- it's feels like you're reading a jigsaw puzzle and with each chapter you find a new piece and you're closer to completing the story!

Basically, it feels like the later volumes of Fruits Basket. Drama and angst galore, little comedy. Even the characters seem the same, with little tweaks to their personalities here and there to make them "original". The main characters are very similar, and even Sakuya's two friends remind me of Tohru's two friends.

Despite being a huge FB fan and a Takaya fan, I'm having a problem reading this series. I don't care for the protagonist and I absolutely hate her love interest. Her funny and cute friend likes her but she's oblivious and follows Chihiro like a lost puppy, despite the fact that he's unnecessarily cruel to her. Why do shoujo girls always go for the total jerk

for some reasong i keep imagining some characters as some from fruits basket. like chihiro can sometimes be like kyo...ot hatsuharu (epsecially in ch 11 with the random hug xD)

it's a very slow but interesting story. it keeps me in the edge becuase it's so unpredictable. the characters each have a different personality that keeps the whole flow of the story balanced. (sorry if i don't make any sense)

so far, i give it a 10/10

Natsuki Takaya-san is really good in flashback parts..just like in hoshi wa utau,we are now introduced with Chihiro's past and his true love..
which somehow the unrequited love will finally surface its lonely head.i just hope it's a happy ending in the end.

the summary made me think that this manga would be a good one, until i read the first few pages of chapter 1 and thougth that i was werid. but by the time i finished the first chapter, it was ok maybe??

i guess i would probally like this story better if the main character (the girl, but i don't remember wat her name was =P ) had longer hair like Torhu from fruits basket xD

I only read the first chapter, but it seems pretty interesting. I like the main character, she is actually a really strong girl. she never gives up.
and it has pretty boys too.

Those who loved Fruits Basket will love Twinkle Stars.
The story is pretty good for the moment and drawing is very nice !
