If it wasn't for the sequel Superior would've gotten 7 from me.
The art is really not my cup of tea, the plot is kinda good, but the author takes too direct approach to morals. I doesn't look like fairy-tale, it doesn't feel like fairy-tale.... Yet characters' reaction and decisions feel like one... But over all it is enjoyable. Especially if you compare it too the sequel which is totally retarded.
8 because I enjoyed it and annoyances were minor... compared to the sequel.

the only remeeding quality in this manga is the enimies-falling-in-love thing, but i still thought the romance was terrible
i dont know, if you like typical shounen action manga, then i guess this is for you. if not, then dont bother reading you'll definitely drop it

Absolutely spectacular.
It's the best manga I've read. Seriously.
This is the BEST adventure/monster/subtle-but-FANTASTIC-romance/fighting manga ever.
It uses BOTH the views of Sheila and the Hero. But the mangaka does it subtly, so the whole story is smooth and a great read.

Really, the reason it got bad ratings was probably the fact that they couldn't take all the action.
o_o it is so good. It has literally EVERYTHING you could want in a manga.
Love, Sweet characters, badass characters, unpredictable ness, a plot line worth reading, deep characters, characters you thought you knew but ended up being like WHAT HOLLY SKDJFLS!?!, etc.

I could go on.

I liked the beginning of this manga. However, after about volume 5, the artist decided to stop the plot line altogether and just add filler characters. Volume 9, the end of the series, resolved nothing, and the sequel has gone backwards. The art is decent, characters cliche, plot line in stasis, but overall I would recommend it. I just really wish the mangaka would DO something with it.

I really did not expect another 20th Century Boys out of this. Since the beginning, I was really looking forward to the part where the Hero discovers that Sheila is the Demon King, but it has yet to happen. Actually, it doesn't happen at all in the 9 volumes. Overall, though the story is good and the art is good, it gives off a feeling of being dragged along WAY too much. It doesn't have the characteristics of a manga which pulls you in for 20 volumes, or even 5. It just feels dragged out. I like the way Sheila changes, and the way the Hero change, but somehow it's a bit unreal. Perhaps the prolonging of each action makes it less realistic and believable. Overall, I was quite disappointed in the manga. It feels incomplete. Then again, there is Superior†, which acts as 21st Century Boys to 20th Century Boys, so I'm hopeful the confrontation will be there. So sad to not give a good review...

The story is just amazing. The characters are lovable especially the demon queen and the story just captivates you. Sheila has become one of my most favorite heroine of all time; she his funny, strong and pretty. I can't wait to read more.

The main idea of the story is pretty typical. Demons and humans against each other....antagonist loves protagonist. But I guess what actually makes this better than most other mainstream manga is the character development. The relationship between Sheila and Hero is really sweet and bittersweet and how everything develops from revenge-driven enemies to confused and naive 'lovers' is really clear. And the art. It was better in the beginning...and the cover art is much better than the regular manga art....(I admit I was disappointed when I started reading it...) But it's BEAUTIFUL. I love the lineart put into it. The only thing I would say about it is that even though there's many characters, the development for them is stalled just for the romance between the leads. I would love it if ichtys puts a little more background and foreground for the side characters so their only role isn't just for comic relief. Also, if this was third person limited rather than omniscient, it would be so much better. Since you rarely see a limited for manga. Nonetheless, I love this manga so it would be a....8.987654321? .....let's just go at 9.

nice artwork and nice plot. Like people said it has a rpg feeling to it and Sira & the hero are quite the unique couple and can't wait to see how theire relationship is gonna progress. It reminds me a bit of watashi no messiah-sama (feeling / art) tho the plots are completely different ofc.

Maybe I came in with unreasonable expectations, but this manga received a lot of good reviews, so I assumed it'd be at least decent. Honestly, there's nothing special about it, and the romance was lukewarm at best. It tries to incorporate some fantasy elements, but it didn't do much for the characters or the plot. Everything about this manga just seemed very stale, and it feels like the same old shoujo characters superimposed in a fantasy environment. That being said, there's nothing terrible in this manga, and it doesn't particularly offend me, so I think it's a solid 5.
I guess I would recommend this to people who're really into both fantasy and shoujo, but all in all, I think this is a skip.
