I'm really tired of mangas w/ the main character who's:
1. Parents are dead
2. One of the parent is missing (like never to be found or works away from home)
3. Live with someone else due to Parental difficulties (like living w/ your uncle cause daddy's a drunk)
4. Abandoned (like they're living on their own or become adopted)
5. Parents are divorced (In which this will lead to problem #2 or #3)
Mainly mangas who's parents does not affect the main character at all or ever mentioned. If they are mentioned, I'd like both parents to be there cause it's so freakishly unrealistic that someone's parent is always gone. If they're gonna be gone, then make it something like the children moved away cause they're old enough.
Here are examples of what I Like:
GTO
Kare Kano
Angelique
Chokotto Sister
Death Note
Escaflowne
Flower of Evil
Golden Boy
1/2 Prince
Hanakimi
High School Debut
Valkyrie Profile
Today in Class 5-2
Minami-ke
Don't just throw any boring manga at me that fits the condition. It's gotta be something you'd spend time reading. By looking at my samples, you can tell I like slice of life, shounen, or shoujo mangas. I can basically fit any genre. Even hentai.

Ashita no Ousama
Strobe Edge - don't recall anything ever being said about Ninako's parents

So are you okay with mangas that don't mention the hero/ine's parents at all?

Akuma de Sourou...the relationship with the father is great...?
Of course, that's ignoring the fact that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the girl's father died when she was young, and the guy's mother abandoned the family when he was young.
Don't think that really fits what the original poster was asking for... ________________

Family Complex erm...it's about the whole family.
Mekakushi no Kuni There are 3 main characters. One lives with both parents, one lives with his father(mother is dead), and one ran away from home. Maybe this doesn't exactly fit but their families play an important role so it's not as if they are out in the world alone.
Solanin They're adults so parents don't factor in.
Mahoraba. I believe he's old enough or got permission to leave home so he could be closer to his school.
Sorry if these aren't what you're looking for.
umm... this story is about an abandoned child.
Unless you mean from Kippei's perspective.
Edit: I take it back since it is about Kippei so it does fit the criteria. In any case it's quite realistic concerning the abandonment issue so don't avoid reading it on account of that.

Kippei is the main character, obviously... and considering the TC included Kare Kano in her(?) example list, I think it's a perfectly acceptable suggestion.

I would argue that Yuzuyu is too, but you're right about Kippei. Also after rereading the OP I admit Ai Baby does fit, although I haven't read Kare Kano.

Wow, thinking about it now I realized that finding a character like that is actually really hard...but I think this one qualifies: Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume. The girl lives on her own, but not because she's on bad terms with her parents or anything - her mother just got remarried and she's giving them space. But her parents still care about her very much, and when they do appear, fairly rarely, they have a very caring, almost exaggeratedly so, family vibe, and the heroine herself is certainly not a tragic character.
