I am looking for a "realistic shoujo romance". To be more specific, I want a shoujo where the story is believable and the characters seem human. I don't mean slice of life but it is fine if the manga has slice of life. I don't want any "cutesy" scene that makes you want to puke. An example of what I want is Kare wa tomodachi. My lists are public so you can check what I have but you don't have to. I Don't want ecchi, yuri/yaoi, shounen/shoujo ai, tragedy

I was going to say Sunadokei, but it's already on your reading list.

Cat Street is fairly interesting and relatively realistic in its portrayals.

Ah... also Koizora is based on real life story except for the:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
bit when she gets pregnant...

So you might want to try that out... ;D It's very touching too~

I already watch the drama and I don't think I can handle reading the manga too (it was really tragic) but thanks for the suggestion

I highly recommend Strobe Edge, Honey & Clover and Shuukatsu.
Although I suggest you watch Honey & Clover first then read.

I also recommend Parfait Tic.

Also, anything by SAHARA Mizu is touching.

I already read Strobe Edge. The rest are either Josei or Seinen and I'm looking for Shoujo but thanks for the suggestions.

Well, if you're looking for realistic love stories where its not really idealized in an "everything is perfect" world that shoujo often has then you're probably better off reading josei or seinen.

demographically speaking shoujo are quite litterally "Girl" comics, meaning for girls as in little girls laugh , so the content of the manga would be suited for them. Josei however are for older more adult women types, and women are probably less keen to the sparkly glittery kind of stories common to shoujo..

So, my advice is; if you're looking for a manga with a "shoujo" feel but a more realistic adult taste then go for josei. There are some good stories in seinen too, but josei is your best bet.

I can't be too helpful since I am not a shoujo romance fan, but I can give you a few possible ones out of what I've read:

Doll - it's more about dancing than romance, and the romance part is believable, I think
Kano Hitoya Tsuki - this is not romance but has believable characters who are already dating
Koitsukiyo no Himegoto - it's historical, so possible for its time

yea but usually Josei have more complicated stories or seem more depressing. I guess if there is any "happy" Josei then I will be happy to read it.

Then I highly suggest Love Roma, even if it's a seinen. It's really realistic and not depressing at all, if you can bear the "particular" art (it's kinda of sketchy, but if you don't have problem with the art, it's highly suggested).

I haven't read it but how can a story about someone who asks another person to be his girlfriend and thinks that he's "in love" when he just sees her for the first time realistic? confused
