Hi all! First time posting a topic.

I'm posting this here and not in the yaoi/yuri forum because what I'm looking for is... broader than that?

As I said in the title, I'm looking for mangas/manhuas/manwhas where there are two (or more) types of relationships/pairings. What I mean is, where there are both heterosexual relationships (typical straight romance pairings) and also Boys Love/Girls Love. ...Is there any? (Other than the listed below, that is.)

Some examples that I've read and very much liked are:
Cardcaptor Sakura – There's a straight pairing (Sakura/Syaoran) and a Boys Love side pairing (Yukito/Touya).
Their Story – In this manhua there's Girls Love as main plot but also there is a Boys Love side pairing.
Kigurumi Boueitai – It has typical shoujo love as main pairings but there is a hint of shounen ai in one side pairing (or maybe I'm just reading too much into it...).
Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha – In this one, besides the main straight pairings, there is also a Girls Love side pairing. Sadly, it's unrequited.

I'd like the pairings to be (if possible):
Requited love.
Slow build up of the relationship (like in the examples I gave).

I'd prefer if it's shoujo (I've been reading a lot of shoujo lately ~blushing boys are the best~) but honestly I'm okay with any genre.

If you do recommend, please, please, PRETTY PLEASE give a description of the manga. I'm not asking for a full essay, but I would like to know at least a short sentence, just to see what it is about.

And of course, thank you so, so much for recommending!

...Or maybe, I should have posted this on the yaoi/yuri forum? Shoot.

Golden Days sounds like what you want. There are multiple pairings, two of them are hetero but the main pairing is BL. It is a historical/time-travel story where two cousins travel back in time to their grandfather's past to correct a mistake he made. The main character's love interest is his grandfather's best friend, and his cousin falls in love with a girl who works in a coffeehouse.

The pairings are eventually all requited (in my opinion), but it is a slow buildup for both of the main pairings.

EDIT: And I remembered another this morning. Cheese in the Trap has a gay pairing along with the main straight love triangle. The main character is a college student, and she meets a lot of different people and becomes involved in the rivalry between her two love interests. Both gay characters are introduced rather early on, but you don't realize they are a couple until later. I wouldn't really say it is really cute (it is a josei) because they do go through some relationship trouble, but I really like them (more than the main pairings, actually). It's not finished (at least the translation isn't) so I can't tell you how it ends.

Oh, and Golden Days has a lot of blushing in it. Because you said you liked that kind of thing.

Eohwadungdungnae Boreumi seems perfect for what you want. It has a main het pairing with the father of the girl being into the father of the boy (the whole reason the marriage between the two was created). It's a shoujo Korean fantasy.
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is probably not what you are looking for but it does has some GL subtext and some straight relationships. It is really far away from what you want though.

Interesting request. Wish there was more of this kind of manga out there!

Loveless -- Two people who form a battle unit and who're bizarrely devoted to each other (for the most part): romance, BL, GL, josei, action, fantasy.

Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru -- Josei, psychological, drama. A very serious story that deals with rape (not between the main couple), trauma, guilt, etc. Main pairing (BL) is a bit ambiguous in that it's difficult to tell whether they went their separate ways at the end or not. There's romance involving both main characters and girls, plus other straight side couples.

Kiss Me Princess -- Main paring is BL; there are straight side pairings. A story about a guy who ends up being given away as a bride to a king while cross-dressing as a girl.

A Night of a Thousand Dreams -- A guy goes into a sultan's harem in place of his sister who was ordered to become the king's concubine. Based on The Arabian Nights, so plenty of straight side couples; not to mention the love triangle between the sultan, his wife and his brother, which is a major plot point.

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru -- All relationships - straight and BL - are only (heavily) implied. There are Zweilt partners who're devoted to each other regardless of gender, plus the protagonist who used to be a girl adored by everyone and is currently reincarnated as a boy and causing confusion among all of his old fans, who were and still are guys (plus one girl).

RG Veda -- A story about gods and their battles. Romance, with BL and GL on the side. Another of CLAMP's early works, 'nuff said.

Kamui -- Action, mystery, supernatural, shoujo. Implied BL and explicit romance.

God Child -- Mystery, supernatural, tragedy, shoujo. A very convoluted and sad story with a whole host of psychologically messed-up characters. BL implications and several tragic straight pairings.

People say Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle fits this (Sakura/Syaoran + Fai/Kurogane), but Idk. A time travel + world travel adventure. It's shounen, but the mangaka are CLAMP, so...

Clover (Clamp) -- A tragic josei about genetically modified people and those who're in love with them. Main het pairing + M/M side couple.

Oniisama e... -- Lots of implied GL in this one, though there's also canonical straight romance.

Earthian -- Josei fantasy about heaven and earth and the angels who mediate between the two. Main BL pairing plus het, BL and GL side pairings.

Shinkuu Yuusetsu -- About people whose (platonic) life partners are determined at birth, much to the joy of some and the dismay of others. All types of pairings - some requited, some not.

Adekan -- Explicit het and implied BL, sometimes involving the same characters. Again shoujo, but I'm not sure it'd be your cup of tea, because it's difficult to take a lot of the relationships here seriously. Still a great plot, though: could have been a seinen if not for the BL subtext.

Zone-00 -- Another genre mashup. Shoujo, romance, implied BL and GL, action, horror, supernatural, etc.

Hi Izuru Tokoro no Tenshi -- Straight romance + gender-bender BL + unrequited M/M romance. A historical, supernatural shoujo about politics, religion and royalty in olden-day Japan.

Cantarella -- A weird take on the lives of the Borgias and their friends and enemies. Unrequited BL pairing (which actually involves the protagonist) + requited het romance between his sister and BFF.

Koi to Gunkan -- Shoujo slice-of-life about a girl who falls for her town's mayor, only to discover that he has a secret (male) lover. She finds a more suitable boy for herself eventually, of course.

The Tarot Cafe -- Josei, supernatural, fantasy manhwa with several pairings, both straight and BL.

Seimaden -- Main pairing is between the female MC and her lover from a previous life who's currently a demon; there are M/M side couples who're either demons or angels, I can't recall correctly.

Will add more if I remember.

Oh, wow, so many recommendations! I didn't think I'd get many recs to try and read, but I'm very much pleased. And I agree, I love it when they're different types of relationships in a manga and they're not all the same, reason why I made this topic in the first place. I can't get enough of it.

Anyway, by the short descriptions you all gave, it was enough to peek my interest, so I'll be checking them out.

You took the time to replied to this and recommend it to me, so I'll still go check them out. Thank you!! smile

Thank you so much to all of you for taking your time and replying and recommending me stuff. I'm really glad, and I really appreciate it.

Otona no Mondai - heartwarming story about a very open family. main plot is the romance between straight male MC and his female love interest. parents are divorced but still in friendly connection although father of the MC is gay and lives with his male lover.

Ani no Hanashi - this i read recently and loved it sooooo much! great storytelling in only 3 chapters. after reading you don't have the feeling to want more or that something is missing. it's all said. story is told from a younger brother's perspective about his older gay brother's complicated relationship to a friend from school. in chapter 3 the younger brother now became adult and introduces his female lover. relationship of the two brothers with mother and grandmother is also part of the story.

Oooku this series you have to buy because it's licensed and there aren't any scanlations. so if you have the chance go and purchase it, it's worth the money! beside the uncommon plot with reversed gender roles it involves any kind of sexual relationships. how i'm remembering is in the beginning of the series subtle gay love, later on there are several hetero relationships and in the recent volumes is also subtle shoujo ai.

Usotsuki Lily

It has unrequited yaoi and requited yuri, but they are just small part from this long series manga (18 volumes). Well, as like the title, it is a fake yuri, the male lead is always crossdressing, lol. Great manga anyway, totally reccomended
