Ken's art has improved a lot since Love Hina .This manga makes Harry Potter and any other magic based story look gay.
I bow to its Awesomeness!

Wow, akamatsu really does an amazing job with this - a very nice balance of comedy and action. Especially the recent chapters - that kind of action is not very common in manga, and I am very happy with it. And in response to the previous comment, Nodoka is currently topping his affection chart FYI. However, I'm pretty sure Negima is going to end without any pairing for Negi - perhaps, at most a sibling kind of bond.

You've just been akumetsu'ed!

Alright, I've read a few of Ken Akumetsu's works and its always obvious and apparent right off the bat who the protagonist is going to be with at the end. If Negi ends up with anyone but the Female protagonist, Asuna, I will litterally be shocked. Plus Asuna is a lot like Naru the female protagonist from love hina so the actual real love story is not really going to come as a shock to anyone.

If you havent read love hina yet then I would reccomend Negima to you but if you have well... instead of a few girls its now an entire classroom and then some so be prepared for a really long on-going series.

I mean the goal is to eventually acquaint the protagonist Negi to the entire classroom and throughout the story not only has the author yet to achieve that but he's also added even more characters, tons!

I guess if you're really in it for the magic action shonen aspect of the manga then you might not be dissappointed but personally I've seen better action scenes else where.

I guess this is what you might call a shonen-shoujo hybrid and that is pretty much all I find interesting about this series.

I also find it hard to relate to the ten year old protagonist being mixed into love situations with women significantly older than him. I also find it hard to believe that besides his young friend at home that anyone above his age finds him attractive outside of the supposed cuteness factor the series focuses so hard on.

I guess all in all what I'm saying is This is an improvement on AI Love You but to consider it an improvement on Love Hina would be venturing too far since it seems to have too many similar characters and situations (its also quite common to find traits of a single character in Love Hina spread out to three people in this series).

Frankly, I love this series, comedy, drama, magic, & cute boys a few of its many great quailities. But as a girl (straight), I have to say you can tell he draws h-manga on the side... so much ecchi DX

Akamatsu does not disappoint with his most recent work, which starts out as an almost too cliche harem manga that quickly turns into something entirely different. As I said, It does start out in a setting that looks immediately like another harem manga: a ten-year-old mage boy that starts teaching at an all girls high school for training. 31 students are in his class. Sounds like a harem, yes? WRONG. there starts out with zero romance or any such thing. The teacher is not weak or unreliable at all, nor is he greatly powerful (initially) with some dark-past problems. as the story progresses there is a greater romance factor, as discussed by the perv-ermine Chamo-kun. However, this is mainly used for character development and comedy (and also as a kind of plot device.) Also, this manga is even longer than Akamatsu's previous mangas. Once again, I say it is not the BEST of mangas but no manga really IS the best, simply because "best" is all judged by opinion. I would definitely recommend this manga to those looking for laughs with a lighthearted overtone. While it's not overly complicated it is not very simplistic either. There is some occasional fanservice and (unfortunately) an entire chapter devoted to it. However, if you don't look at it and only watch the speech bubbles, it is very easy to ignore (except in the one chapter; it takes place all in a bathhouse, so it's kinda hard to not look. However, nothing important actually happens in this chapter; regarding the story it could be skipped.) anyway, before I go into spoilers, I'll just say that, once again, I definitely recommend this manga.

EDIT: In response to someone else's comment, no, Ken Akamatsu does NOT draw h-manga on the side.

EDIT2: In response to someone else's comment, the characters ARE PARTIALLY BASED ON characters from Love Hina. He did that on purpose. Also, you aren't supposed to be able to relate to him. Not only is he a child, he's a GENIUS child. Were you ever a genius child? I think not.

It has an amazing story. It has a great balance of action, drama, romance and comedy. There are a lot of unique characters, all of whom play an important part and are all developed throughout the manga Too bad it is underrated compared to other more commercialized titles like Naruto & Bleach. Also it is disappointing to see that some people put it down just because of the large amount of fan-service it has. Please look over the panty shots and get down to the story.

I see that some people say it is boring. Well compared to Bleach & Naruto whose battles take the span of dozens of chapters Negima is a lot more interesting. I have read up to the latest chapters of both Bleach & Naruto and I love the two series so don't think I am biased. I just think that those two mangas pale in comparison to Negima.

On a side note the huge library in my school has only one manga series on its shelf and that is Negima. Strange to think that it is the only one they deemed good enough to be put there and even stranger is that the administration doesn't seem to care that it has fan-service.

The anime, isn't something I've seen, oh but I've definetly read the manga. The manga itself, is definetly different to Love Hina, and it's length, shows that Akamatsu really has bothered to stick to this series. The series, is definetly amazing, similar to Love Hina in some ways, but there is no romance. I enjoy, and currently waiting for a batch of Negima to come out before I read it, because reading a chapter a time every week is difficult for me to recall what previously happened.

The overall storyline, being of MANY genres, I can give 10/10. It's an awesome series, not including the anime. The art, definetly, top notch stuff, Akamatsu's art has definetely improved, so I give it 10/10. Storyline, amazing, definetely, each character has it's own complex relationship, with the main character, one way or another, and they don't just come, and leave in the middle of an arc, unlike Chao. The ending has yet to come, and I will wait and see what Akamatsu has in plan for us, for this fantastic series. 10/10.

Very good despite the anime

I tried the anime first and honestly thought it was TERRIBLE (although many seem to agree with me XD) but the manga however is brilliant it starts off a bit slow storyline wise but it develops quite quickly later on and frankly now I eagerly await each new chapter some of the storylines are predictable at times and the author seems to heavily enjoy putting the characters into arena type combat situations but it's enjoyable all throughout. Don't be like me and dismiss it for being such an outright strange situation for even a manga (10 year old with a harem) it has a lot of potential and I eagerly await the next chapter ever week!

awesome series, i really like the style of the artist. there is a bit of ecchi, but it's really nothing compared to some series. combines a fun main story with a surprisingly deep back story. all in all, one of my favorites.
