In Heian era, a noble chief councillor of states had 2 children who wished they were opposite gender. Lady Kira is strong, willful girl, while Lord Kira is weak, beautiful boy. Because of their characters, their father raised Lady Kira as a boy and Lord Kira as a girl.
The manga is based on a novel from late Heian era called “Torikaebaya Monogatari”.

The art is cute and the pacing is good. A fan of cross-dressing romances will love this series. It also has a good amount of comedy in it, especially toward the end when everything comes to a head.
This series is serious about the cross-dressing. The secret isn't "discovered" early on... instead you have two characters worrying about whether they're gay and
The story is very well-plotted. It starts off with simple cross-dressing, and slowly snowballs as more and more complications arise from the female Kira being considered a male Kira by everyone except her family. Thanks to her own stubborn wish to be treated just like other guys her age, she ends up in court having to disguise herself as a man, and thanks to a big misunderstanding her "sister" (i.e. the male Kira) has to go to court too. Then they both fall in love with someone to whom they're close... ^^
The relationships develop naturally as a result of the situations, although the story doesn't focus on the relationships so much as the complications of cross-dressing and how to solve the problem. All in all, I am surprised at how well the ending works out, but it's satisfying even though

all of the potential lovers end up with someone - the female Kira's former friend who was in love with her despite thinking she was a male, ends up with that same Kira's "wife" because he gets her pregnant

which I think is the one disappointing thing. But the reason for this makes sense, so I don't have a big complaint, especially since it is based on an old story from the Heian era which is very similar (the characters are more innocent here than in the original, since there is a lot more sex in the original story).... Loved this. It was so funny!! Man.. i was laughing my pants off! Hee...I just wished there were more romance scenes with the emperor and Kira.. xDD But for the end... i just felt like it was rushed or sumthing like that. Like, what happened to the other gut who liked Kira..(i forgot his name..><). I mean he liked him/her, so how did he reacted when Kira(who was actually the brother, now) came back!? The aurthor didn't write ANYthing about that!! -sigh- and i would have thought that the emperor would have noticed the change...>_> -sigh- well all is good :DD Kira is so innocent...LOL Well read this for a good laugh!!<333
Haha, the emperor and someguy ( I forgot his name ) is so funny. Liking Kira without knowing she is a woman. I think this story going to have lot of twist and plots! can't wait for more . ...
By the way, Kira is way too dense (in the matter of a man and woman) I can't believe she think that pregnancy was made from God! Lol, she is so cute
