I have seen the "I'm looking for ..." section, and have realised that there is no thread for mangas that you should read. So here I'm going to give my recommendations 🙂
There is no shoujo or josei as I don't usually read those genres.

Dragon Ball - First of all, the biggest classic among classics. If you haven't read it, read it!! There is also the anime, which is extremelly famous!!

Akira - Another classic among classics. It was made in 1982, if people still read it 30 years later is because it's good!

Angel Densetsu - Made in 1992, again a classic, and still one of the most popular mangas.

Love Hina - From Akamatsu Ken, same author of Mahou Sensei Negima. Also a good manga.

Hikaru no go - It's a manga about "go". I know, who knows what is "go"? Well, find it in this manga. From the same artist of Death Note and Bakuman

Densha Otoko - Why people don't know about this manga? It's pretty famous in Japan. It's based on a true story.

Touch - Or anything by Adachi Mitsuru. This one is from 1981,another classic 🙂

Now, let's get something more actual 😉

Naruto - Again, I begin with the classics here (or the will be classics 😉 ). This is one of the most famous mangas right now, alongside with One Piece and Bleach.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi - Another famous one.

Sword Art Online (Novel) - The anime is much more famous though 😳

Onepunch-Man - It's not really a must read, but I like it 😀 The same happens with Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo

Gantz - For those of you who like action and gore.

And a final recommendation for all those people who like me, are really into manga 😛 Genshiken It was like reading parts of my life 🤣

By the way, not related but ... watch the anime films from studio ghibli 😃

If there's something epic that I have forgotten about, be welcome to make your suggestions, as I'm making this thread for those of you who want to check if you have missed something important 🙂

Off the top of my head I would have to say:

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHoLic along with anything else by CLAMP

Emma

And of course the classic Rurouni Kenshin and Hagane no Renkinjutsushi

That's all I can think of right now, besides Hikaru no Go and One Piece which you already mentioned.

I'm going to recommend Maison Ikkoku, usually I don't like romance to be so vanilla and light-hearted but I consider this a classic that has held up with its age.

I considered including Clamp, but I would have chosen Card Captor Sakura. Mostly because of the anime though 😳

I agree with Rurouni Kenshin and Fullmetal Alchemist. Good ones.

Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!
Shaman King Kanzenban
Yu Yu Hakusho

I find that the anime of Yu Yu Hakusho is better than the manga 😛 , but yes, these are three big ones too.

I'm not an expert of shoujo, so I may have to agree with you 😛
If I had to choose shoujos though I would have said that Hana Yori Dango and Kare Kano are pretty famous? Not sure 😛

Wow, I forgot about this one, a big classic indeed!

I don't know this one sorry U.U
I may have to check it later

I also thought that Fairy Tail and Detective Conan were great, but I didn't want to write too many mangas. Although I was really tempted to include Conan (well, I finally dit it 😀 )

Noblesse
Berserk
Blood Alone
Byousoku 5 Centimeter
Dance in the Vampire Bund
Death Note Ending sucks though.
Emma
Gunslinger Girl
Orange (TAKANO Ichigo)
Otoyomegatari
Onani Master Kurosawa
Sanctuary
Tada, Kimi o Aishiteru

PS: Many similar threads exists, but I guess it's fine as mod/admin didn't said anything.

PS2: While this is more of a personal opinion, I am surprised you are putting History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi in Mangas you "should" read list 😮 It should be put in mangas you should NOT waste your time on 🙄

I haven't read these two, but seeing that you also support Noblesse and Emma I will trust the general opninion. Although I generally find Manhwas a bit too violent (maybe for its psychological hardness?), and Emma a bit too girly for my taste.
Well, maybe I will give them a chance eventually.

Ouch! Didn't see them, sorry.

hahahhahahhahahaha 🤣
I can't believe it! This is the only manga that several years later I'm still reading every week! Not even Naruto got me hooked so much time. I have to admit that it's not a masterpiece from a literary point of view, but it's pretty interesting! hahaha

I have to say... most of these are either I love or I hate... Many ones I have no idea what's doing up on here. Guess people's tastes do vary quite a lot.

My share of favs (that I happen to remember):
7 seeds
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
Bloody Monday
Bokura no Kiseki
Cantarella
Freesia
Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang - if the manga follows the novel that is...
Hakushaku Cain Series
Itsuwaribito Utsuho
Koori no Mamono no Monogatari
Mushishi
Nana
Natsume Yuujinchou
Otoyomegatari
Petshop of Horrors
Princess Princess
Ryuuroden
Sakamichi no Apollon
Shirogane no Seija
Vinland Saga

Well, I read most genres, so it's pretty mixed up.

An absolute must: Watashitachi no shiawase-na jikan
Its serious and beautiful. The best one I've read so far.

When it comes to shoujo:
Kieli because not only it is a good shoujo (believable romance, as un-cliche as it gets, interesting characters) but also depicts society and human nature.

No. 6 I don't know the current status of it, but the novel is great, and the mangaka made a lot of good work so far (as opposed to the anime). Why? Because of the way the relationship between two main characters is described. Because you can see how they gradually change and how people may have different looks on one issue. And deals with it better than most of the manga/light novels.

Also I would add Hellsing to the list. Not because it's great (which i don';t really think) but because.. oh well..
