Omg so many hot bishounen and biseinen! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Lol @ StarlightDreams, yeah we know you aren't a shotacon... But no harm in admiring underaged illustrated bishounen, right?
Thanks Dr. Love for Dogs, they look really pretty! *_*
It's precisely because it's a rarity to have bishounen in shounen that I'm so interested.
Thank you so much for taking the time and reccing.
And could someone remind me of this historical samurai war-manga that was seinen but had this really, really feminine-looking long-haired biseinen on the cover? Brown hair, if I recall, and a kind of seductive smirk on his face... (No it's not Rurouni Kenshin lol.)
I suppose I should add Mononoke to the list; the lead is freaky but he's def. pretty and kind of alluringly effeminate sometimes... I mean... Yeah. And what is with that nape, seriously? That nape belongs on a geisha.
Isn't young Walter from Hellsing kind of buggerable, too? He definitely poses in weirdly suggestive ways. And the main vamp of Hellsing himself is rather pretty from certain angles... Like this one, which makes it look like the two guys are fighting over him. o_O;
Hm... Let's not forget Hinata no Ookami! Prettiest Hijikata EVER. He sleeps around with a lot of different women, but that don't mean guys don't fancy him...
And Taimashin, which is... yeah, the character's really pretty and even flirts with guys - or what looks like flirting, idk.
Same goes with Jikuu Tenshou Nazca (the anime anyway, I haven't read the manga since it's unscanlated).
You've gotta admit that's pretty. And really subtexty.

Dolls has an assassination squad. Well, I think they're all pretty. Liar Game has an L-like main character, and it is soooo cool in that psychological creepy way. Monster's villain is evil AND bishounen.Oh, and Kunisaki Izumo no Jijou has an (unwilling) crossdresser who gets confessed to by guys who KNOW that he's also a guy.

!!!!!!!!!!
Odette, you CONTINUE to amaze me by actually introducing me to BL I hadn't heard of before (this is astonishing, I thought I knew every BL title in the multiverse!). Tsumikabatsu is currently downloading and I'm going to read the hell out of it - shounen AND shounen ai! <3 <3 <3
Thank you for the recs too, nephilim, hollyivy and StartlightDreams!
Yes, Vagabond certainly is teh pretteh (must add that to my list!), but that missing manga I was looking for was actually different, I think - the guy on the cover was REALLY feminine, I mean I actually thought he was a woman at first, long straight hair and just that air of androgyny, and I even remember one of the reviewers for that series saying: "Uh, don't mind the cover, the manga's actually really manly." Or something along those lines. Lol!
Speaking of "manly manga" with beautiful men, Dangu would sort of count, I think?
AR∀GO is a new title that I'm eagerly keeping an eye on. Notice the bishies on the cover? YEAH.
Edit: Adding Threads of Time, MPD Psycho and Leviathan, the last two of which have "weird" beauties but they're still beauties. I think. Or maybe I just have really weird tastes in guys?
Edit #2: Alto (in the vein of non-shota admiration of young gender-bending bishies, StarlightDreams!), Gisèle Alain (I think he's cute, anyway), Karasu (it's like a bishie harem - with samurai), Asagi (again, samurai), Burning Hell (freakishly scary SUBTEXTY PAIR OF BISHIES - or one bishie and one "beast," lol <3), Romance of the Three Kingdoms (the anime is downright GAY seriously), Sengoku Basara 2 (scanlated by a BL group, whaddaya think), Otome Youkai Zakuro (by a yaoi mangaka, 'course there are bishies!), Era of Death (vaguely subtexty bishies), Lord (the usual Ikegami hotness) and Steel Ball Run (bishies with a fashion sense gayer than a rainbow-colored chipmunk on acid).

Kunisaki izumo no jijou I don't think anyone has mentioned this one yet. Its only 3 chapters and a one shot at the moment(the oneshot has supernatural elements to it, but so far in the "main story" theres none of that). Its pretty funny, basically the protagonist is the successor of a kabuki family and dislikes playing female roles that he gets because he looks like and is often mistaken for a pretty girl.

It's outrageous, isn't it? XD I hope someone will scanlate it again.
If "manly" bishies are allowed, I have some other pet favorites:
Akagi (anime) - The art is strange, but somehow the sex appeal comes through.
Ares - Everyone is hot except the main character, who is not bad either.
Death Note
Jiraishin
Historie
Homunculus
Mushishi
Shin Angyo Onshi - The beauty is more evident in the later part of the manga when the protagonist is younger and has long hair.
Vinland Saga
Fudanshism and Nicoichi might also count.

Oh yeah, Vinland Saga definitely. The prince and the main character. Er, except when he grows that damn beard. Stupid beard of sorrow.
New Bishounen Lead I Just Found: Id.
Edit: nevermind, i totally take back id. erlack, the main character looks like a girl, acts like a girl, ugh. even the romance scenes turn me off; it's like girls love. no plot whatsoever. Instead, I give you: [m]Bloody Monday[m] Teenage hacker saving the world? Please.

STUPID BEARD OF SORROW. <3
Best quote ever, hollyivy. I might have to use that phrase randomly throughout the day, for no purpose other than some arcane reason known only to me. (So that strangers might think me mad. Wait. They already DO.)
I can't believe I forgot about Vinland Saga! I also thought that there was crazily intense subtext between Thor (was that the main character's name?) and the I'm-a-tender-little-flower-so-you-must-keep-me-in-the-shade princeling. Of course, then the princeling had to man up and wise up and GROW A BEARD, sigh. Still plenty of bishies, though. I know this is going to sound really freaky, because he isn't traditionally what is even remotely considered a bishie, but I thought the Machiavellian bearded guy who took Thor "under his wing" (and, as the subtext implies, into his be-- uh, heart) was really hot. But that's OT, since he wasn't bishie-material. Technically speaking. Like I said, I have weird taste in guys.
Odette, since it's you, I'll risk exposure to the peculiarly angular art style of Akagi. I'm all for strange sex appeal. (In case the above comment about bearded Machiavellis didn't convince you.)
I swear, you guys rock so HARD with your recs! If multiple marriages were legally allowed where I live (or even monogamous lesbian marriages, lol), I'd definitely propose to you both. And akari_mizunashi. And...
Oh, wait. I'd better control myself. HAREMS! For another day.
THANK YOU!
Edit: Random bishie treat from Asagi: *WHIMPER*. TEACH US ABOUT MANHOOD, SIR. And then, in case you didn't believe manly samurai capable of it, THERE IS GRATUITOUS HAND-HOLDING. Squee! It is true; that is how a man should be. Apparently, these two guys (Hijikata Toshizou and Kondo) are so married that even the younger members of the troop remark that, "Kondo-sensei looks more reliable, too, when he's with Toshi-san." More reliable? What is he, a husband? <3)
I KNOW, this isn't the subtext thread. But, but...! I couldn't help myself.
DEATH BY BISHIES!
And more randomly married bishie couples.

Okay, this probably has no relation to the topic whatsoever but....how do you make the underlined manga thingy? Like, with the link? Thanks!
BTW: Just read Historie. Oh my god, social studies has never been so awesome. Well, if you don't count Hetalia.

See the code bars above when you're typing?
[m]manga's title[/m]
The title has to be in the database though.
Like this: [m] Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou [/m] without the spaces turns into Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

Looks like most of the series I can think of have been covered already but I'll throw out Are You Alice? anyways. I't Josei, but it might at least be similar to what you are looking for.
