Okay, so I'm looking for a manga with characters following higher education at a college or university.
Something a bit like moyashimon, only without the microbiology, and Genshiken, but without the extreme otakuness.
Can be any genre, but I shun the demographics of Yaoi, Yuri, Shounen-ai and Shoujo-ai, for reasons that should not have to be explained.
I'd prefer if it were a Seinen, any other demographic only if it really is exceptional.

So, you want the protagonist to be in a university setting, or do you want the manga to go about the ordeals of university, and how the protagonist faces its trials?
If it's just the former then try RideBack. The girl is an university student. It doesn't really center around universities though...

either way is fine.
Though I would prefer if it centered around life as a university student.
And thanks for the link base_coat, but what i'm looking for isn't shoujo or josie, nor a focus on romance. Of course there can be some, but not nessecarily.

Almost all the titles I know are in that thread. There are seinen too, e.g. Family Compo and B Shock, etc.
And these:
Cesare
Haruka 17

You should try See you in Eden. Its about an art highschool, but it sounds like what you are looking for then anything else i can think of. Its shoujo, but could probably pass as seinen and there isn't any romance at all.

Thanks for the recomendations.
It really is too bad that college/university settings are so few and far between. While imho those settings are far more interesting than a highschool setting.

I agree with you. I'm getting really tired of reading about high-school students... If not college, at least that strange period of time between college graduate and marriage (like in "Friends").
