Majin Devil, the second protagonist. Level headed, yet not perfect.

The manga is quite short tough :/

I haven't read The World God Only Knows so well... IDK if these are what you want. But yea, try them?

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Pet Shop of Horrors
or
Bloody Monday
or
Kimi no Knife
Blood Alone
or
Tousei Gensou Hakubutsushi
Hinekure Shisho no Mikaiketsu Jiken Roku

Can you be a bit more specific? I mean... it's gonna be a whole long list for just unique male leads... Besides, "unique" is kinda a blurry description, I count everything that's not in run-of-the-mill mangas, especially shoujos, unique ><.

I'm going to interpret unique as not the typical male protagonists found in shounen and shoujos.

Banana Fish - is packed full of unique personalities, by which I mean they actually have personalities.

07 Ghost - Teito is pretty unique, he looks weak, is actually strong but he has his rather weak emotional moments, which are in perfect fitting with his character's upbringing.

Mx0 - the lead male here is pretty unique in that he uses brains to fake the image of being powerful. Unfortunately, this manga has a rushed, incomplete ending which kind of spoils it really.

Kuroshitsuji - Well, I guess this has 2 male protagonists, but I think both are pretty unique in their own ways. This manga is good but should not be read seriously, it will drive you insane if you try, just enjoy the ride.

E's - Again, 2 male protagonists, but while Yuki is your typical, if smarter, shounen male, Kai is much more interesting, and not least because he has psychic powers. Other characters are also very interesting, still, this is worth the read for Kai alone.

Spiral: Suiri no kizuna - Main chacter is a genius who hides in the shadows of his elder brother, and ends up gets caught up in strange goings on. That's all I can say without spoilers. If you like TWGOK, you'll like this.

Number - I've only just started this, but the main guy seems fairly unique. An assassin Hell bent on revenge yet with a tender side. It has potential, but whether it will deliever or not remains to be seen.

Loveless - Well, I'm not sure what to say without spoilers, basically the main kid is grieving his brother while being abused by his mother and suffering from the trauma of amnesia. It makes for a very interesting and unique kid who you can believe is still 12 at times, but you can also understand why he is so mature. (Unlike some manga where is it hard to remember the protagonist is supposed to be 15 when they look and act like an adult)

Nabari no ou - Male protagonist is indifferent to the world, and more than a little reluctant to play the hero. He is very different from your typical shounen males.

Kaze no stigma (light novel) - Kazuma is arrogant and powerful, and not above killing. I would say he's unique because his character is developed, he has his demons, his reasons, his fears, and his triumphs. He's pretty happy being on his own, but at the same time craves for the comfort of others. If you don't want to wait for the light novel translation, the anime is a pretty accurate, if lighter, adaptation.

Houkago hokenshitsu - Again, I can't say much without spoilers, but the main guy is a hermaphrodite and all the main characters are messed-up in their own ways, so it is very far from typical. This manga is just beautiful in it's execution, with every character and chapter being well thought out. I think the ending could have been better, but I still rank this manga amongst my favourites despite that.

I hope this helps. I'll edit if I think of any more.

the guy(forgot his name) from paradise kiss is unique
Love Roma hes so blunt and honest(its almost annoying)
longer and slower than a river one of the best main characters you'll ever come across...he's awesome and perverted xD
NHK ni Youkoso! not your typical shounen lead

Trinity Seven - has the coolest pervert male lead ever, he is unlike any other of his kind
Tsuki Tsuki! - the manga itself is a so-so harem with a little to much fanservice, but the male lead is totally laid back
Suzumiya Haruhi (Novel) (the novels are quite good, but you could try the anime too) - if you like sarcasm Kyon is a character for you
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou - the manga itself ain't great, but the male lead is really serious about many things (and he wears that cool and serious face a lot)
Witchcraft Works - the male lead isn't really unique, but he gets treated like a shoujo female lead by the actual female lead who actually acts like a shoujo male lead smile
Hoshi no Samidare - lots of unique people there and I think the male lead was one of them

2nd zippy all the way, but I think the lead of wilds falls a bit towards the "weak homo" quality. Oh and adding shingetsutan tsukihime, and bonnouji. Both are a little more towards normal, but the first is a born killer, and the latter is just a bit of a romantic oddball.

As for the Grils of The Wild's, the guy there has his own set of trouble, so he distances himself from the harem and ignores the girls (at least at first). I thought that his down-to-earth attitude made him unique.

Hmmm guess it makes sense if you think about it that way... in just found him boring x.x. I mean even when he finally snapped he didn't accomplish anything lol. Oh also finishing off my recs with KKOW and AIKI. They may fit slightly into the demographic u didn't want... but they are so amazing at being strong and pompous it practically becomes a new thing xD.

Superior
Sarashi Asobi
Mismarca Koukoku Monogatari
Kämpfer may be unique too... You probably won't find anyone more blind and stupid than Natsuru...
