Satan, who was most interesting character story-wise, ended somewhere at background. Now, his two supposed lead harem (I know, harem it not his idea) members using most of manga pages, flashing their boobs, making stupid speeches and accomplishing childish missions. What growth of characters, when he became a nanny? Totally out of character for someone with supposed limitless experience compared to mortals. What a waste. Though in Tears to Tiara Satan happens to be similar wuss. Or is it shojo manga about magical girls?

No really, I really just like sympathetic stories about ostensibly evil dudes who turn out to be awesome gentle mild-mannered amazing AND secret kickass.

I also like that for an ecchi manga, the girls are very smart, independent, capable, and strong. A lot of the focus in the story is a considerate portrayal of how the two princesses grow into themselves, and I really appreciate how complete characters they are in and of themselves, and not just a booby-bag for the protag to try and bang and get panty-shots from. All in all, this manga is really respectful and feminist, which I really love.

i really loved satan's character especially the "Feared and hated by the world" part that contradicts his personality i really hope that starting from the next arc the story would focus more on satan himself and not the princesses. i think that this story's plot is quite interesting and i hope to get to read this manga till the end.

Good Manga

At vol 4, the story and romance begins to really show. This manga is like a rollercoaster ride, it can get very serious but then turns around and does something light-hearted.

If you like harem's and comedies, this is highly recommended. Each character has a high degree of dept and plenty of room for development. Most importantly, the main hero, though sometimes get into cliche harem situations, is a very likeable character. He is not a wuss that is common in many other series.

The only problem is that they place random fillers into the manga. However, they fun and gives us a breather from the main story.

I cant wait to see what happen next to the island, the romance, and the political development.

we tend to get caught up in labels and expect things when we see a certian lable... then we critize it for haveing the content that we thought it would have... such things as it the same onld thing... nothing new...

but strangly this is a bit different from others with the same label and now we are critizing it because its different...

so if you want a by the book harwm dont read this...
if you want some thing that is slightly different then give it a shot... not that it is a great manga but its worth the read while waiting for other things to be released...

Something different

Shina Dark is about many things. This manga touches on topics as diverse
as politics, religion, prejudice, personal growth, etc. It does all this
in an extremely light-hearted and somewhat self-mocking fashion, with lots
of jokes and RPG references. This is a manga that tackles serious topics
without taking itself seriously.

One thing that Shina Dark is definitely *not* is a typical harem romantic
comedy. I don't think the 'harem' label in the genre tags is even
appropriate here. Yes there are a lot of girls on the island, but there's
not even a hint of romantic development (well, at least not until the very
end of the 4th volume, but it still remains to be seen where the author
wants to go with it). If you want to read that sort of thing there are
tons and tons of other series you can try. I do wish reviewers would stop
criticizing this manga for not being something it was never intended to be,
especially when the author is actually trying to do something unique and
interesting.

Shina Dark is far from a perfect manga. It does jump around quite a bit
and can be hard to follow. The off-beat humor isn't going to appeal to
everyone (though I like it). This is a quirky series and the chapters can
be hit-or-miss sometimes. But overall I still really enjoy it. The jokes
can be quite funny at times, the characters are endearing, but most of all
it's the unique take on a common premise that I love.

I can't claim that everyone will like this manga, but give it a chance.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
While it hasnt played any major roles, Shina Dark does infact have a hint of Romance. It dosnt appear until the final chapter of Volume 4 (Chapter 20) but it does occur. You see some brief scenes with Satan and the 2 princesses and then a bit after where they both realize the other likes him then declaring they wont loose to each other.

The end of volume 4 marks the end of the first story Arc for Shina Dark. Hopefuly we'll be seeing the next stage and finaly some true story unfold with the hopefuly upcomming chapters.

[Note]:It isnt 1000 princesses, its just 1000 women from various points in the world, 2 of them are infact princesses as far as i can tell right now. Also there is a plot however due to the way this manga is organized it will unfold in arcs, the first 4 volumes would be considered the first arc.

mediocre manga

The theme was extremely good and interested but actually the story didn't have a single plot. The 1000 princess just for show because the story focus only into 2 princess and Satan. This is not harem cause after 4 volume there was no indicate that any girls like Satan and it's obvious that the story up to now did not have any romance at all. The ecchi is kind of okay.

Besides, the art is not really great, and it kind of difficult to follow if you are a fast reader.

Overall, it's not a great manga but it's also not really bad. If you have some time to waste, go ahead and read it.

Harem without Romance confused I mean dont take this manga seriously. It does not serious about devil stuff neither.
Just a bunch of ecchi with pretty art and brainless comedy.

It cannot deserve more than 5 point without a plot. Super overated.

Quite interesting at some first chapter, however,it became worse and worse.I couldn't understand the author, how could he draw a harem manga without any romance? And the story became nonsense...
The drawing is quite good ,maybe the only good thing you can find here
