One of my top 5!

I honestly do enjoy this manga! I've seen the anime too, but when i began reading the manga I had to begin at Chapter 36 (something along those lines) because I wouldn't want to read something i already saw in the anime.
There is Hilarious Comedy which always leaves me laughing for 'ages', The sweetest (at least in my opinion) romantic moments, and then theres the sad moments sad ......
Anyways...To sum it all up, this is a great manga! 10/10!
The Female lead is strong and smart, but she still has her weaknesses smile
The fact that she is a Tsundere just adds to her character, in my opinion, it just makes it more interesting smile The male lead is interesting as well
Love the art too ^_^

Yus. (May hold subtle but obvious spoilers)

I apologise in advance to people, as this is a rant.

For starters, this is a really good manga because, even though it follows many clichés found in shoujo manga, this makes it wonderful as it doesn't rush the story, and is the natural progression of love between a hater of men and... Usui, for lack of a better word. The fact that Misaki doesn't suddenly turn around and says "I love you!" and they live happily ever after, adds to the realism, as it takes many trials and efforts for Usui to squeeze into Misaki's heart. Also, the fact that after becoming a couple, he hatred for men doesn't diminish, but over time as she makes new friends, and even how she still acts like Misaki around Usui, even when dating.

Secondly, Misaki is tsundere. Meaning she is prone to dramatic changes which makes her ever so loveable, people who say she becomes a blushing idiot. You're the idiot, as that is the essence of tsundere, otherwise it would be just tsun, an angry, violent, unloveable female dog that would be boring for a main character. She becomes more tsundere in later chapters, but less tsun and more dere as Usui slowly becomes important to her.

Thirdly, Usui has been, from the very start, and always will be, a pervert. It's what makes Usui, Usui. It isn't forced, but a natural feature he has. For those who say it's forced or unnatural, are idiots too. If he wasn't perverted, it wouldn't make him Misaki's most incompatible guy, and therefore destroy a somewhat mismatched couple element. Also, he wouldn't have been able to break down Misaki's defences like he did.

Fourthly, Misaki doesn't change when she becomes a couple with Usui. Yes she may become more dere than tsun like she was with him, but that's the point. She changes, not to an absolute different person, but to a more open person to him, like he cracked her shell. A relationship is good if it changes people in that way.

Sorry for the rant. This is a worthwhile manga with a realistic love story, even if people have personal preferences which deny this. For me, however, it was truly the best shoujo manga I've ever read.

Endearing supporting characters

Incidentally I found the secondary characters more entertaining, since the only reason that I picked up this series was mainly for some comic relief. Especially loved Suzuna, Satsuki and the idiot trio (san baka).

I really, really like this manga!!! And, I do believe that right now...it is slightly irritating. What interested me was Misaki's personality, "Omg!! A girl that actually isnt weak!! A man hater!! A demon like person!! Awesome biggrin " (Am I weird?) As the story developed, I really liked it!! Usui and Misaki, they were so interesting!! I thought. And now, Misaki blushes and stutters too much..a bit repetitive...Of course Im not dropping it!! The manga has its good points! Its just not as good as it use to be? (Of couse Im still excited when it is updated~ > w <) Or maybe its because Im becoming older..Im just gonna stick around and see, but this manga is really a good one!! If you think its irritating when the blushing and stuttering or serious things happen.I would advise you read until the firework festival..the one Misaki is Juliet! ^ ^(Where the anime ended) (Btw, I think the anime was better..it wasnt dragged out..of course I wanted more..but the ending was good..) I rated it 8, but it was really close to 9.. So I recommend it ^ ^

I believe that both leads are interesting, but what is the story? I've read 50 chapters and i am still bored out of my mind. If someone could explain why this manga is so popular I would love to listen, but so far, in my opinion, it lacks plot and point. Each chapter is monotonous and lacks stakes. My overall impression is that the piece is "blah".

This was a good manga, and I did enjoy the beginning of the story, until it becomes annoying after the two main characters finally become a couple. Don't know why but I don't really like how Misaki changes afterward. And I have a feeling the author is really trying to drag on the story, I think it's BEST to end it right after they are together. I drop it since chapter 40, lol xD
Anyway, I'd like to give it a 7, consider it way better than many, many of the cliched shoujo out there.

It's better Han your average romance shoujo.I was able to read the first chapter after all but when it comes to it it is still shoujo like cliche and annoying.this might be the only saving grace I have to shoujo except two classics no.6 and crush on you.if you want a romance shoujo that isn't as terrible as the rest read this but if you want real manga read Seinen or BL.shoujo and shounen are cliche and promote boring "friendship can get you through anything"

Don't be discourage to read this!

This is an amazing series, don't be discourage by the other reviewers stating that only the beginning of this series is good, in my opinion this is very untrue! Sure the now Misaki is different from the beginning of the story and that is to be expected because that's her character development. She goes from strong and as another reviewer said, kickass to a more willing and kind protagonist. No one stays the same forever and since Misaki does evolve through the series, there is character development in this story! And about Misaka's past, I am pretty sure it will be unveiled but as of right now it's not important for her to have her past revealed to the audience to advance the plot since the story is about their relationship and not her past, it doesn't really help the story as of now other than make Misaki a more dynamic character. And like people say, love can really change a person and the fact that she blushes a lot means she really love the Usui and this also add a sense of realism to the story. So read up on this manga; you won't be disappointed!

I loved it but at some point it turned out to be so annoying. Misaki is supposed to be strong and smart but now she only blushes and stutters. I hate the way the mangaka tries to show usui's perverted side, it seems so forced.
