I recentlly come to love stories that feature Familiars that travel and stay at the main protagonists side in a story. So now Im basically looking for more manga that feature them, primarily when they are in the genres that have action, adventure, Fantasy or a combination of all three. Im looking for stories kinda like the these two,
Ive recenlty been re- reading Zero's Familiar - and we all know how Louise treats her familiar, even though he is human.
Another Familiar that I really like is Bun Bun off half Prince, as he plays a very comedic role in the story 9and all he is basically a meatbun with a face, lol).
If anyone has any suggestions for a story where the familiar plays an intergral role in the story (whether it is a human or animal-like familiar) that would be great!

Well, there's Hyoue from Her Majesty's Dog, the crow from Love Monster, and Leo from Ultramaniac (all shoujo).

There's also the Mokona from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (shounen) and xxxHolic (seinen).

I think The Violinist of Hamelin fits everything you asked for: action, fantasy, adventure and a funny talking crow.

The group working on it hasn't released any of it yet, but when they do, you'll want to read Shirogane no Ou - fantasy, action, and, er, a talking pelt. o.0

Immortal Rain had a cute three-eyed animal for a while following Machika around. Very cute, very funny once it learned to talk.

Maybe Shounen Onmyouji? Haven't actually read the manga, but I've seen some of the anime, and he has an adorable fluffy dog-like mononoke familiar (who actually transforms into a wicked awesome shikigami, but hey, details).

Shugo Chara! There are guardian characters that are with the person all the time.
Cardcaptor Sakura Kero is with Sakura all the time.
Kobato Ioryogi is a stuffed dog that can talk and is like a guardian.
I think the cat from Vampire Game counts as well.

Karin's sister

You could even consider the Naruto summonings as familiars

Also, you could even think of Kiseijuu's as being about a familiar and the "owner".

You might want to check out the movie The Golden Compass as well...

Sailor Moon

Cardcaptor Sakura (Already added... so, I'll second it)
