Yep. Bohra breaks the rules, and her stories are great! I would add Dog Style (tall-older uke/short-younger seme)

Yes. Her work is very different from any other yaoi, in art and characters. She also writes unique fantasy. Examples:
Dokunoaji and Yurusareta Uta-Fantasy.
Alluring Sentiment-Much older uke with young seme.
Covetous You and Insensible Me-Historical.

And Miyamoto Kano 's Walker universe (start with Are You Enemy? and go from there). It really stands out, even from her usual work, which always stands out from typical yaoi.

The best one I have read, being unusual, with a great story, and with a manly uke:
Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yumewomiru and it's sequel seems as good as it: The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice

Then..I have long list, because I don't like girly ukes or stereotypes, I will post those ones with a non-girly uke, I'll tell you the best ones I have found:

Surf Junkie Mukizu ja Irarenee and Buddy system as well as its sequel XI. All of these mangas are from Sadahiro Mika She likes to draw hot men, and sometimes you would see the reversi (when an uke can be seme, by the way I am looking more reversi characters), these ones are explicit and very...eh, hot..

Sangen tonari no tooi hito,Hand which,Boku no Shiru Anata no Hanashi and Akanai Tobira are unusual yaois..you never know who would be the seme or uke, sometimes you see girly ukes but they are not annoying..they have really great characters, and unusual couples. All of them from Suzuki Tsuta, this is my favourite mangaka right now, she draws beautifully and almost all her stories are great.

Don't Stay Gold by Yoneda Kou has a non-girly uke, I have started to read few works from this mangaka, her drawing style is similar to Tsuta's one, so I love it, and well even when you can see the stereotypes her stories are somewhat different and great, I especially recommend Ore ni Koi Shite Dousunda, I have only read a chapter but it is so good so far..

Renai Junkie, really unexpected roles here.

Totally Captivated is a shounen-ai but there is no girly uke here, and the story is really good.

Wild Darling great story.

Ikoku Irokoi Romantan this is what I call a manly uke XD..Yamane Ayano has a lot of interesting stories and they are all manly, her drawing style is great btw.

Aruji no Oose no Mama ni good one.

Ashita mo Tanin lovely story.

Definitely Dog Style I was quite surprised when the older and more experienced one in the relationship was the uke while the shorter and younger one was the seme. It was pleasantly different.

I seriously want some nerdy guys ><.......more like otaku yaoi type.......if there even is a manga like that...

oh and about unconventional....well, some said what I already had in mind. hmm there are slight shounen ai with a slight twist that I can think of-

basso's work is more realistic, there's not a lot of smut in Amato Amaro but there's more in Kuma to Interi. I love her stuff, I don't know why, but I just love it. Her characters are more realistic and not so girly/etc.

The recommendations were AWESOME! Some of them didn't really fit what was requested, but even so, I could filtrate it and get a lot of good stuff out of it (7 that I'll read now and like 10 to read when I have time).

But I'm a total b*tch when it comes to yaoi. I mean it. It's because I've read too much, so I'm too selective now...when the art style doesn't fit my taste (girly ukes or too strong men), when the characters don't catch my attention (whiny ukes, shy semes) or when the story is too fluffy or too weak, I just eliminate it from my "to read" list right away, even if it may turn good afterwards.

I'm looking for a this manga,

A short middle schooler uke with blond hair dates a tall seme black hair High school guy and there first date was at a pool and a few years later I guess they broke up and now his friend into him and he got taller and other things I forgot I remember that in one off the chapters that the high school guy friend meets up with him and since there both tall the other other guy doesn't see the kid next to him LOL
