I loved this. The humor is entertaining but doesn't go overboard, the characters aren't flat... What is most interesting about this story is that everything doesn't fall into place right away. And you aren't sure just how messed up things are/were until the other characters know. I will admit that at first I thought the "Boss" was a jerk but he definitely changed by the end.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Sure there are cliches, but in a good way. I actually thought all the characters were very likable, especially Ewon! Here is a list of some of the tropes used (successfully):

Atypical Uke: Yes, Ewon is actually a pitcher. Not that Mookyul cares.
Slammed Against the Wall: Twice I believe. Also see Slammed Against the: Bed, Door, Floor, Futon, Hospital Bed, Desk.
Childhood Buddies: Ewon and Mookyul actually have met each other before. They aren't buddies per say, as one of them got beaten up quite badly by the other. Subverted wonderfully in that Mookyul calls the unknown culprit in his childhood, that "crazy f*ck who grabbed my balls* Yeah, no wedding arrangements quite yet.
Possessive Lover: Oh man, oh man. Keep a 5 foot radius from Ewon at all times if you don't want to be killed slowly an painfully.
Best Friend, Unrequited Love: Moon. Though he gets it on after ten years. ;)
Jealous Ex: Book to the face, anyone?
Tsundere: Ewon and Jiho are sort of these.
Yakuza (Gang): "Respectable" businessman. Riiiiight.
Smutty Scenes: Tastefully done. There's a reason the series is 16 +.
Cushions: Three. After a very painful night. See: Limp.
Craftiness: Mookyul calls Ewon "Fox Jung." Considering that Ewon manages to postpone doing it, escapes from Mookyul twice, and hides out at his rich friend's house. Though he gets caught after, of course, and punished.
Drunk Scene: Biting fetish. Oh yeah.
Bishonen: Duh, it's a yaoi. Although Mookyul's bishie factor burns the eyes (in a good way), Ewon is considered quite handsome, as commented on by a few high school girls and a few schoolmates.
Sorry Ladies, I'm Gay: I swear, the boys should have signs that say: Female Trespassers Will Be Shot Down.
Crying: LOL. While Mookyul is harrassing Ewon, Ewon starts crying. Mookyul is caught completely off guard. This is their conversation:
M: Why the hell are you crying?
E: God, don't you have the decency to look away?
M: How can I do that?! You're crying right in front of my face!
Fluffy Moments: "You got a lover?" "No boss." "You should get one. They're real nice to have around."
Twist: Man, I got sucker punched by Ewon's past. Poor Ewon!

THis manga totally had depth, and it was just real. I honestly get tired of mangas where the main character is just loyal to the one person when in reality its not true. Another that I really admired about the main character was that he didn't give himself so easily to him like in the majority of the other mangas. Overall I love it! It's definitely different!

This isn't a typical 'the character is innocent' story, so stop looking for it here, people

I feel like everyone who downrated this series has the main complaint, 'Everyone cheats and the main character is very unlikeable,' but I feel like what they're saying is, 'The characters aren't like every other yaoi I've read, and and that's not how it's supposed to be.'
In most yaois, the main guy is innocent and lovey and faithful to his lover. The seme is either a nice guy who would do anything to keep his uke, or a harsh guy who has trouble voicing his feelings. You like all the characters because nobody is bad, and everyone means well deep down, and ladida, whoopdidoo, you have your typical yaoi.
When you read a story, the point of reading is not to like the characters and everything that happens. Let's face it, when you're reading an actual novel, sometimes, you will hate the characters' guts and you will want to slap the author to the moon for her choice in plot. The point is to watch a character grow from a bad situation with the events in the story. Ewon goes from being a shitty guy with seemingly no moral capacity to keep his junk in his pants, to a guy who is wholey commited to one person.
If you're looking for the typical 'I love this guy but he doesn't like me, but oh look this guy likes me maybe I'll go out with him to forget the first guy, but wait, the first guy likes me now, what do I do?', then this isn't for you, because this story is closest to a real story than I've seen in any other yaoi for a long time.
Let's wake up, people. In real life, people can be douchebags. People fight, people cheat, people hurt eachother, and they can still love. That's what's so great about this story; it gives it to you straight.

As with all manga I was skeptical at first, judging from the seemingly-cliche summary description about an innocent guy being lured into the mafia.
Well, I ended up reading the entire thing in two days, staying up well past midnight finishing it up. I did get a slow start though, as I didn't know anything about it before and tried reading it from left to right, lawl.
Anyway, to the point of why I LOVE this series so, so much... first of all, I'm picky about the art. Hot leading guys? Check. Intricate and engaging plot? Check. Great dialogue? Check. And pretty much everything else that makes a great yaoi. Heck, I can't even categorize this into just "yaoi". At first I did feel this was a little slow, as I'm into reading more smut-filled manga; but the storyline and the relationship between Ewon and Mookyul quickly engaged me so much that I didn't care. And that's saying something, because I'm not so easily satisfied! Their love is strong, angsty, passionate, dark, and tender all at once... that's not easy to find in most yaoi. Will truly remain a favorite of mine, and I have a feeling I won't come across another as good as this for a while.

Lastly, to the folks who gave this a 1, I can actually understand all the flaws that you pointed out. The two characters' infidelity and sometimes outright lack of concern for others' CAN be offputting at times.. I should be giving this a 9.9 since it certainly isn't THE ABSOLUTELY MOST FLAWLESS MANGA in the WORLD!! but I can't give darn. I don't know, there's just something in the way that this manga comes together as a whole that just sets everything right. I like that the two main characters don't cling all over each other in the sickly-sweet way that most boys in yaois seem to do once they've professed love to each other... no, there's something very bittersweet about their relationship. And I believe that an engaging love story in any manga SHOULD have realistic ups-and-downs in order to bring the two characters even closer.

Oh, if you enjoyed this series, you will adore Loveprize in Viewfinder as well! Great story, delicious art, and about the mafia too! wink Not to mention S-M-U-T around every corner, haha!

Honestly I think that the first volume is the best they started off really great. Then it become a little bit boring in the second volume but I still love it ^^.The art is very pretty!! Mookyul is very hot!! I love the ending. It is very satisfying coz usually they like to make the ending seems incomplete. The comedy is good too. Highly reccomended if you are yaoi lover!

Really pretty art, started off great but then the characters just got more and more unlikeable (the protagonist in particular). Might be worth reading for the art and some comedic moments, but not anything else.

Honestly I was wonder why I was still reading it in vol 5. It just seem like the main character became a man-whore, and I couldn't find myself liking him anymore.

Ultimately forgettable. Literally. I read to the end and only a few months later can't remember what even stood out enough for me to follow it except that it was generally inoffensive, and probably more importantly, completed. Typical over-the-top Korean antics and macho gay posturing is the general impression that remains.

Disappointing since I really love mafia/yakuza stuff.

Totally Captivated will totally captivate any that dares to read this yummy manga (manhwa)! The gorgeous art will have you drooling and the sex scenes weren't that explicit for a yaoi manga which I'm entirely grateful for. It has a nice blend of everything a yaoi fangirl wants in a manga. Once I started I couldn't put it down.
