Hi fellow manga fans .
I'm looking for a refreshing shoujo manga. I'd like it to fall under the romantic-comedy genre, however I'm not into anything that is too lovey-dovey or anything like that. Oh and I want a likable heroine.
I accept one-shots, short stories or novel-like. But please make sure they're created by a Japanese artist, I'm not into Manhwa or the non-Japanese manga.
Just for a bit more info. I've read all of Chiba Kozue's mangas, so try not to suggest them. I've also read quite a few of Fukushima Haruka's works, and Kurahashi Erika's.
Also, please don't include mangas with smut, ecchi, or anything overrated like that O___O . I think I'm a bit okay with mature, but yeah.
It's kinda like a big ask.. but hope you guys can let out your manga spirit !

Strictly shoujo:
Likable female leads:
Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume -- she's so adorable... I just want to hug her soooo!! It's a very cute, slow (oblivious) romance... it's not very lovey-dovey. Scanlations are still going at the moment...
Fruits Basket -- there is some comedy along the way... but it's more angsty/drama... but totally worth it!! This was the first manga I ever finished/deliberately read, so it holds a special place in my heart.
I think you'd really enjoy Otokomae! Beads Kurabu and any work by MOTOMI Kyousuke. Many of our BU-friends have raving reviews for Dengeki Daisy (which is on my wishlist since it's still ongoing!!)
From what I remember, I enjoyed Kimi wa Girlfriend. It's a short story.
Sweet one-shots
Hidarite no Love Letter
Haikei, Nanashi-sama
Matryoshka

If you're looking for shoujo, then I strongly suggest Tanemura Arina. Most of her works(the old ones) are good. Her latest, if I'm not mistaken(not so sure 'cause I haven't checked on her for a while), Sakurahime Kaden. It's not her best. The art as usual is pretty but it feels too recycled already. But it's still good, if you don't mind recycling.
A good, simple fantasy shoujo is Akagami no Shirayukihime. Shirayuki is pretty likable and isn't the helpless type but some heroines really just need to be rescued. Not her fault if at times she needs rescuing.
Also, Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri. The romance is slow though BUT in the lastest chapter, there is already something. It's a bit too subtle but better than nothing.
A fun shoujo to read since it's slightly different from others, Watashi ni XX Shinasai!. The girl blackmails boy.
By the artist of Watashi ni xx shinasai, Tooyama Ema, Koko ni Iru yo! is also good.
You should also try Yukimaru Moe's works! They're sweet and funny. Also, slightly fluffy :3
Love So Life is also nice. The romance is a bit slow but it's not anything too dramatic but I think it's worth a try.
Sakai Mayu's works have a nice art and some of it are kind of funny.
You should also try Lapis Lazuli no Oukan and the mangaka's other works.
You could also try New Vampire Miyu. I don't know about you but I really like Miyu and Larva's relationship. It's so sweet. I especially liked the ending. They said such a sweet line =3 <3
Oneshots:
Sasagu Omoi wa Hana Meguri. This is a bittersweet manga but it's also good.
Narabuna Kiken!!.
If you're up for other bittersweet mangas I recommend If Her Tears Were The Snow, and Nageku Shinigami.
Vampire Rose happy ending
The Pure Love Affairs Of You And Me
Plain Love by Tooyama Ema again
Some mangas I would recommend that you stay away from because one way or another you WILL get mad at the main girl for the stupidity.
Minase Ai's Dakara Ore ni Shina yo. Don't know if you've read it but my feelings about this manga is really strong and I really... disliked it.
Most of [m]SHINJO Mayu[/m]'s work. The girls are somewhat really stupid. They just get themselves raped everytime and it's not charming anymore. And also, I think you will also avoid it anyway since it's smut and way too ridiculous.

I second Motomi Kyousuke and add Shiiba Nana who writes some really good romantic-comedies.
Also, Cherries Fight is a fantstic oneshot.
Sukitte Ii na yo and Usotsuki Lily are adorable.
Kokoro Botan actually has a better lead male character than female but it's good and has a great storyline. Then there's also Hiyokoi where the main is pretty cute or Sugar Family.
Dear Mine.
Nanaco Robin
Shouri no Akuma
Maybe Bloody Kiss?
Oneshot, You're my girlfriend, Kawaii Ore-sama and Lovely Banchou.

Thanks for the suggestions Kaera_Nyu ! Like many of the other responses, i've read most of them already :S . LOL, although, some that you mentioned were on my maybe list, so maybe i'll actually read them. I loved Nanaco Robin btw
And I've read most of Shiiba Nana's already, and of Motomi Kyousuke. Thanks for the effort though !

Akagami No Shirayukihime
My favorite heroine ever. If you've read it, though, let me know and I'll suggest something else. I'm full of shoujo suggestions.
Edit: The romance is super heartwarming, but not loveydovey at all. The main characters are both really likeable, compatible people.
