Second request.
This is the kind of plot device you can see in Claymore or Soukyuu no Fafner: there are mysterious enemies and the protagonists inject themselves with pieces of enemy flesh or splice their own genes with those of the enemy or otherwise consume parts of the enemy in order to be able to fight them on equal ground.
It can be more magical and less specific, but the idea is the same.
The twist is that it also threatens their sanity and life.

And ummm... Superior? Well dunno... but she's a demon queen on a jurney with Hero to kill the demon queen...kinda ironic lol

Tokko features a squad of symbionts - humans that carry demons inside them, what provides the squad with capability to exterminate creatures from the netherworld. The series ends with the cliffhanger though.

There are actually several characters in Hellsing that fit this description well.

Maybe Chrono Crusade and Saiyuki. The 'good' demons have to unleash their demon natures to fight the bad guys, with the risk of losing their humanity.

Devilman is exactly what you ask for. this manga was made really long ago but you can also watch the live action version which was made in 2004.
