Anyone know some mangas where the main character keep his personality throught the series? What I mean is that he don't suddenly turn into someone else like it happens most of the time, like in Samurai Deeper Kyo, where the main character is first portrayed as a cold murderer who would kill anyone for the most insignificant reasons and later he became hte usual shounen hero, all righteous making speeches about friendship, justice and even sparing the bad guys lives... One example of what I want is Until Death Do Us Part, Mamoru starts with one personality and to this day is still the same, he adapts to new circunstances but never changes his basic personality. I'm not saying i don't want character development, just that it dont changes them completely, the kind where you can't relate the char from the beginning and the end of the series.

The first manga that came to mind when I read your subject heading was Hetakoi

Suki
Hakushaku Cain Series and it's sequel God Child
Kuroshitsuji
Franken Furan
Aiki
Berserk
Jackals
Übel Blatt
ChunChu
Ou Dorobou Jing

I think all of these fit. Some of them aren't over yet so I can't be sure, but none of them seem to be headed in that direction. Also, that's really too bad about SDK. I was going to pick it back up, but now I'm not so sure.

Um Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken is pretty much the same person from end to start... >.>
But, are you just looking for no character development? Since they stay the same way from end to start?

thanks for the recomendations, but i already read all of them... and i know that what i said may sound weird, but it is not as if i don't want character development, i just find that most protagonist change way too much during the series, to the point of being completely diferent people, guts from berserk for example, at first he was always furious, kicking old people around and using children as a shield or bait, now he he suddenly is traveling with kids and acting as an examplary father, almost a gentleman and even givingmoral lessons to others... i still love berserk, but this kind of change is hard to belive.

lol, i see i see, it's just that you don't want the character to have a complete 180 degree turn in personality. Lemme go look in my lists to find a couple good ones...

Not sure if this would fit, but Jin from Zetman doesn't really change much. He stays badass and still always wants to take care of the players.

Keima from The World God Only Knows is still quite the same person. He stays a galge gamer for life.

Zippy Ziggy
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
He's a narcissistic and manipulative ass in the beginning, and he's probably an even bigger narcissistic and manipulative ass after the 50+ translated chapters, but he's still hilarious and awesome lol.

i haven't read it myself, but i think that Sunako Nakahara from Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge might fit, although i've heard that she stays a little too true to her initial personality, meaning that she hasn't developed very much...but you can try it out, hope you like it biggrin

hahaha I totally forgot about this manga! It's true, Kyouhei makes [b]ALMOST NO[b] character development since the beginning of the manga. And Sunako... well she is Sunako forever. She makes almost no apparent changes in her except for the fact that she is able to resist the "brightness" the guys.
