There are more negative opinions than I expected. I disagree with some, to some I can relate even though I totally fell for this series. What caught me is that as shoujo with lots of feelings and drama, it is still packed with action. It has quite uncommon plot, among shoujos at least. The setting is somewhat westernized what, at least for me, made it refreshing. I liked all the characters (Yuca's character development was quite moving). I can totally agree that Rain is a pushover, but if he was taking it for over 600 years when he could kick butts, I think calling him a pathetic coward is missing more than half of the story.

I love Rain, I love Machika, I love Yuca, I love Sharem,... I just love the whole cast! The only exception to the rule would be Freya. The way she treated Rain just isn't right. She couldn't appreciate him at all. She seems to be quite shallow.

Gorgeous manga with beautiful art and a sweet story. The plot moves along quick, but all the arcs seem to flow into each other seamlessly, rather than being episodic. The mangaka has also more or less done his homework as far as Christian references go, which is a huge plus point - it drives me crazy when bad Western references are put in just for the heck of things. Overall, this is a splendid fantasy story and well worth the read.

this is one of the best mangas I've read so far... there are some parrallels with Trinity Blood (which is my number one favourite) and somewhat reminds me of Chrno Crusade (amazing manga!), the plot is simplier, though it doesn't make IR less fascinating and/or addicting!.. I absolutely love the shojo/shonen mix, imo it's the best way to portray the story, because it captivates both male and female readers. This choice of genres fixes the general problem of manga which is mostly too boyish or too girlish, i.e. either lacks feelings between the characters, when you hope to find them or lacks action and is to sugarly sweet.
In brevi, I would put 11 if I could.

I also thought that it wouldn't be so good before i started to read it. But now I know better! This manga is one of my favourites. I love every minute of it. If it doesn't come out here, I will definitely buy it! Maybe I'll buy it just so that I have it in my bookshelf, so that I can read it over and over again. ^_^

This is one really, really good manga. It has its soft, clear, and beautiful art and an easy storyline. With its own length of drama, suspence, action, and especially romance, it's sure to surprise and greatly please any kind of reader. It has a good sense of character development, and all characters have their own type of personality. Wonderful manga!

Seriously, looking at the summary I didn't think much about this manga, but the high rating convinced me to give it a try. I don't regret it at all! The story is interesting, characters likable, ending is okay as well and the art style is just amazing. I read the whole manga in just 4 days, because I couldn't stop reading. It has action, adventure, romance, humor, mystery and character development. Just go and read it 😀 It might take about 2 volumes before it really starts interesting, but I was hooked from the start.

I love, love, LOVE this series. It was so much better than I was expecting! It was an emotional roller coaster with a FANTASTIC ending. I truley hope everyone reads this series. You NEED this in your life lol. Characters, plot, art and romance, all amazing! 10/10.

This manga is by far one of the best I have ever read! It made me cry, laugh, and wish there was more. I guarantee that you would love this as well... I'm torn that I finished it, yet glad. A breath of fresh air knowing that i finished reading a wonderful masterpiece such as this... Thank you OZAKI Kaori!

When I started it, I was like meh. I guess I must have been prejudiced against Rain's fake glasses. Or something. Cause as soon as he lost them and the manga ka updated her art style a bit and got into the meat of it I realized that what I was reading was something AMAZING. Actually I think the real turning point was when a certain someone was born. So crazy good. If you don't believe me, READ IT YOURSELF. The protagonist goes from being slightly obnoxious to loveable and fun and Methuselah/Rain (and also Yuca) will always have a good chunk of my heart to himself. All the characters are complex and fun, and don't be mislead by your first impression of some of them. They and the story itself have something deep going on that I was able to completely immerse myself in by the end. You'll be crying for them and cheering them on and slapping your face in their behalf before long. It's super exciting, often hilarious, really quite freaky at parts, and the kind of sad that makes you want to give the characters a hug and cry with them. I like the romance too. So sweet. You won't regret sticking with this one if you like a good sci fi fantasy action romance.

note: there is some good amount of blood shed at times, and one or two random top half nude shots, but it doesn't go over the top and the romance is good and clean. For those like me who care to know.
