Looking for a romance with overwhelmingly "dark" elements - like creepiness or possessiveness or twistedness or even violence - or a manga where everything else is dark and the romantic relationship is the only light. Basically, a psychologically disturbing and dark-themed manga which is also PRIMARILY a romance manga ("romance" must be there in the official genre list).
Preferably an intelligent and thought-provoking manga, too - not just brainless/dweeby angst (as so many dark romances are). Something with depth and wisdom and a sort of philosophy - something that teaches us important things about human nature... The kind of manga that blows your mind.
Examples: After School Nightmare, Doctor Du Ming, Eternal Sabbath, Orange (SOMEONE SCANLATE THIS PLZ ;_; ), Grant My Wish, Knife, Rika the Breeder, Deep Love: Ayu's Story and its sequels, Giglio, The Sunflower Quality Of An Integrated Circuit (HOMG LOVE THAT NAME) and A Cruel God Reigns.
Any genre is ok. Thanks.

@coldjava - that looks beautiful! Thank you!
@base_coat - lol, you're right, I should try it... I think I read the first two chapters like 3 years ago, but I wasn't on an angst-kick at the time and thought it was too dull/dark - but obviously I'm a little more mature now (I hope lol) so I'll give it a try once more! I think I'll be able to appreciate it now. Thanks!

If you liked After School Nightmare, you should really try her older bl works like Dousei Ai, Mister Mermaid and 1999 Shanghai. I have not read Sakura Gari by Yuu Watase but you might want to look it up.
Some titles which I think kinda fit your criticia...
Boys Next Door
Mimurake no Musuko
Umi ni Nemuru Hana
Aitsu to Ore

You've probably already read these, but "Damned Sun" in Taiyou no Ichiwaru and Perfect World (NAKAMURA Asumiko) are both quite good in that tragic/beautiful way.
EDIT: Cheated a bit looking at the "Recommendations" on the MU pages for titles I just suggested, and found another one that might fit: Present.
