It's been a while, since I started reading Manhwa and webcomics, but still there might have been some hidden treasures out there - And something, that helps me to improve my Korean skills some more, which means 한글 and non-translated recommendations are not really a problem. That's why, I'm basically looking for ...

A Manhwa.

But - Now the difficult part: My taste and expectations. Among my absolute favourites are these days Cheese in the Trap and Diamond Dust (KANG Hyung-Gyu), so you can say usually I prefer:

* Romance, even as subplot.
* A "slice of life feel" - or at least a realistic setting, where something fictional is put into carefully.
* A well-build atmosphere.
* A drawing style, that matches the theme.
* Main characters above the teenage age, if possible.

I'm also fine with something funny or quirky characters, like those from Hannune Banhada! Season 1, or something more heavy, like Nobody Knows (LEE Hyeon-Sook), so the genre tag can vary, just like the drawing style. Coming to this, I should say, that I had a phase when I was into the style of KIM Jea-Eun, so Teen Spirit and her other works are already in my lists.

Oh, and I dropped most works similar to those of HWANG Mi-Ri.

Thanks, in advance for any help. ^^

I'm about to go searching.
Right now all I have for you is Let Dai.
Possible Pros: slice of life-feel, not primarily romance based
Possible Cons: Shounen ai not above teenage age.
I believe it to have a nice atmosphere despite being kind of heavy.

The Tarot Cafe
Has a good plot and some side stories that mingle with the main plot. "Heavy", but isn't tragic from my point of view.

Things I cannot personally vouch for but might be to your tastes:
June

@Lorska just as I was updating my post. biggrin
I second Melo Holic.

What about My Heart Is Beating? It's school life. I've heard Ensemble (Yubi) is good.
I think about to stretch it with H2O. I liked it when I was younger. It gave off the feeling you described, but because of how epic it is I've never picked it up again.

Anything by HA Il-Kwon tends to have a nice message, good setting and story.

Real Purple
Sad Love Story
Shining
Nocturne (PARK Eun-Ah)

Webtoons:
Pink Lady
Song of the Cloud
Westwood Vibrato
Telling Through the Colors
Annarasumanara

That said, Cheese in the Trap is one of my absolute favorites, but I don't think there's another series quite like it, lol.

For manhwa, I usually mostly read the fantasy types nowadays though, not the ones in a realistic setting. If you're okay with that:
The Tarot Cafe , Masca , Absolute Witch , Ciel , Saver , Bride of the Water God
Otherwise, nevermind.

H2O is funny as hell.

First - Thanks for all the recommendations! ^^
I'm not too much into "Fantasy" stories these days, so I will concentrate on those being less influenced by this first, but maybe there will be a time again, when I try them out, too.

@CynicallyOp: Let Dai looks interesting and actually I don't mind ShounenAi, so I will start with this one the next days and I'm already looking forward to it. June seems worth a look, but it will have to wait, because after the first something lighter will probably be needed, like the webcomics you suggested. Thx. Oh, and - H2O is definitely hilarious! Kkk.

@Lorska: Melo Holic ended on my wishlist. The description is quite refreshing, so thanks for this~

@Sphear: I agree about the works of HA Il-Kwon and even though I have already been reading Real Purple, the other ones haven't really caught my attention before. I will look through them carefully again. ^^

@Mizura: Definitely, although it's great to see a few recommendations including music here, which can maybe somehow lighten up my mood. Kkk. Reminds me - I have been reading Bride of the Water God, but lately I just couldn't bring myself up to look at all the drama in it. Sighs~

Again - 고마워. And ... If you stumble upon anything more, then don't hesitate to recommend it. ^^

Again I'm running out of something interesting to read, since I finally got more freetime at hand and spend some of it reading. So, is there anything coming to ones mind, after reading this thread, that might have slipped my grip? ^^;

Also, recently I was taking a look at some history related works and they looked pretty interesting, like Goong, Savage Garden and In Full Bloom (YON Jae-Won). That's why, it will also be okay to recommend me historical settings! Thanks, in advance~

Back again with a little time & asking, if there is anything new out there?

It doesn't need to be a perfect match to my requirements, but all in all they are still the basics for my search & recommendations shouldn't get too far from them. As usual, thanks. 고마워. ^^

Dear My Girls has a historical setting smile

Sir Tiger's Table is school life and I think maybe a subtle romance is developing

although cons with both is that they are not above teenage age?? >.<;;
