I want to read something where a girl travels back in time or into a different world/dimension. But there has to be a reason (Ex : She saves someone important's life, saves the world, or another reason no matter how small it is). I also want her to be strong and determined, but with a soft side. MUST HAVE : Romance between heroine and someone in other time/world.

No Yaoi, Yuri, Shounen-ai, Shoujo-ai, Shounen, Seinen, Ecchi, Smut, Tragedy is allowed. I just want a strong heroine with some romance. eyes

I haven't read them but Sengoku Strays and Nise no Chigiri have time-travelling heroines.
edit: ah sorry about that it would appear that sengoku strays is shounen

Kanata Kara
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
-She ends up in another world without knowing why/how she got there but later on she decides there must be a purpose in her being brought there (and she finds her "reason" in the latter half of the series).
-She's not physically strong but I'd say she's determined and is definitely "soft."
-Has romance between her and someone in that other world.

Fushigi Yuugi and Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I personally hated the heroine in the first FY series and prefer the heroine and story in the 2nd series (Genbu) more. The heroine in Genbu probably fits your criteria more too. Both series involve the heroine traveling to another dimension and not on purpose at first but they find they play a major role in the other world and decide to go back to finish their quest.

I wasn't sure if you meant that the heroine travels to the alternate time/dimension because they have a reason and decided to, or that the heroine ends up in an alternate time/dimension and finds a reason to be there.

I second MysticMelody's and nakie08's choices and I'll add Saver, Crazy Girl Shin Bia, Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori, Ouke no Monshou, Shinobi Life. Hope these help.

I recommend Saver even though it's not completely what you're looking for but the story's great eyes
Just warning that the main character, a girl, dresses like a boy so there's a little false shounen ai in the plot. Hope you don't mind. shy

Oh just noticed that midnightloon already added Saver so I second it. laugh

Amakusa 1637 - This fits your description, but I'm hard pressed to remember if she fell in love with anyone in the time period. (I think she falls for a classmate that got stuck with her, but I'm not too sure...)

I second Shinobi Life.
Time travel is a main concept of the story, and the heroine has a purpose (though she IS a typical shoujo heroine). The side characters and stories are quite well developed (unfortunately that doesn't apply to the main pair). The art is nice, too.

<read the post below>
I second what Yankee-chan wrote about Orange. I read what's so far been published and it was really good, but unfortunately the author seems to have dropped the series.

There is also Heptagon. The female main character is in her twenties and doesn't have a goal in her life, then she gets in an accident and wakes up back in her junior high years. It's interesting, how the past and future are slowly getting together and things start to make sense, when her memories start coming back.

Another one is Tomodachi Gokko (MOMOCHI Reiko), which might be to your liking. I'm still reading it, but so far the story starts off in an interesting way - I think. It's a rather serious plot, dealing with mobbing and suicide, which leads to the main character going back in time trying to solve things in a different way.

Orange (TAKANO Ichigo) is still on my wish list, but I have liked the authors other works and even though it is on hiatus currently, I'm sure it will catch my attention.

The Bride of the Water God - Not really "another dimension" but kinda like it since it's not the "normal" place people would be at.

EDIT: oh yeah, Kimi ga Waratta - 1/6000 Honesty. It's a little similar to Heptagon.
