After reading Wa! (KOJIMA Akira), my daughter has become obsessed with the ultra cute/chibi drawing style and has been looking for more like it. The only other manga I know that comes close is Kashimashi - Girl Meets Girl (I am aware that I listed yuri as an example, but I am not specifically looking for yuri stories).

Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She's nine, so please nothing adult (specifically, nothing hentai) but make whatever suggestions you like. I will be checking them out and will censor the list if needed before I give it to her.

I have looked through the recommendations sections of both of those manga to look for similar stories but have come up empty-handed at the moment. I tried looking at the categories as well but it was too long a list to read them all.

Thank you, anyone with ideas.

*Edit*

Just in case anyone thinks to mention them, we are familiar with the cute Western shows and comics, such as My Little Pony (Rainbow Dash is now center on her bedroom wall). Unless it's obscure, we've probably seen it.

Eh, I didn't really find the mentioned manga as ultra moe/cute, so I'll just list my favorites with cute drawing.
Nukoduke!
[m]Akazukin Cha Cha[/m]
Isshuukan Friends.
Cardcaptor Sakura - There are some (very little) shounen-ai and shoujo-ai hinted here, enough for adult to realize it, but almost invincible for children. At least I never realize about them when I was little. I suggest you to read them first and judge by yourself if its appropriate or not.

Black Rock-chan (Definitely super chibi) and Tenshi no Hane to Akuma no Shippo are one of my favorites in terms of cute art ^^

Lucu Lucu has a cute art style, but I'm thinking many parts of it are a bit mature for a nine-year-old, so maybe not. You can read it yourself, it does touch on mostly mixed religion topics and some demons, though they are "nice" demons. There are some sexual jokes as well, perhaps some violence and language... yeah, maybe not for a nine-year-old, but maybe keep it in mind for as she gets older?
My little sister liked Yotsubato!, Wild @ Heart, and Kitchen Princess, which all have cuter art styles. The last touches some mature topics that might need some commentating on your part, but I highly recommend Yotsubato!; it's adorable and family-friendly. She might also like Chi's Sweet Home, another favorite of my younger siblings. I'll add more if I come across them. Good luck. ^^

Edit: I also wanted the suggest the Hayao Miyazaki movies, they're fantastic and would be fun family movies for all of you. The only iffy one really is Princess Mononoke with some violence, the others should be fine, and I think she'd love them.

Momo Raba and Mamacolle have some cute characters she might love.

Thanks for the suggestions. They look good and I'll take a peak at them tonight, though she read Cardcaptor Sakura over the winter break.

I'll try to explain what she told me: She thought the characters of Wa! were adorable and she wanted to be able to hug them. She loves the anime "A Little Snow Fairy Sugar" and "Shugo Chara" for those reasons. Every time Kashimashi (or any other manga) had chibi versions of the characters, she would stop and stare at them.

The link for Akazukin Cha Cha doesn't work and a search for it only turns up two chapters that are not able to be clicked. Ah, found it as Akazukin ChaCha. That one looks exactly like what I'm trying to find. Thank you!

I'm a liberal, so I don't care if she reads things that have GL/BL/Shoujo-ai/Shounen-ai (hence the Kashimashi reference) smile .

Thanks again, Sorcha!

@Nekomikoto
Thanks, they look great. Keep the chibi's coming!

We have all the English Yotsubato! (Yotsuba&!) volumes available right now. We saw the anime of Chi's Sweet Home on Crunchyroll, but I didn't realize it was a manga. I'll have to look for it.

She's still young enough to enjoy reading together, so something like Kitchen Princess might fit that.

We own every Studio Ghibli film released in America, I think. No matter how many times she watches them, they're still her primary go-to for movie nights. She's just old enough now not to be disturbed by non-graphic animated violence.

I didn't think of it-and thank you for mentioning it, distraughthallelujah-but anime shows and movies with a lot of cuteness work well, too. We do have a limit on how much television she can watch, which is why I put emphasis on things for her to read.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Can't believe no one has mentioned Barakamon yet. Not exactly the same type of art style, but incredibly cute, both in appearance and in story!

+Anima could also work for cuteness factor.

Oh, and Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha.

Kirarin Revolution (check anime)
Yumeiro Patissiere (check anime)
Animal Academy
Gakuen Alice

Not really like your primary example but pretty cute art styles.
Target audience is pretty young but I still find them quite enjoyable.
