Best Overall Manga: Gintama Liked it alot the characters were all interesting and lovable, theres no plot but that gave it alot of flexibility and really brought out the whole comedy and enjoyment of it.

WORST OVERALL MANGA: No Bra Seen worst but I haven't come across one with really poor art during 2008 so I guess this one is the only one that really qualifies in anyway 'bad'

BEST ACTION SERIES: Black God I don't see many mangas in which the girl gets a horrible beating (not that i like seeing girls get beating up) but I liked the action in it nevertheless.

BEST COMEDY SERIES: Yo no Na wa Zushio Its very random, the only way to truly describe it.

BEST ROMANCE: Umi no Misaki interesting story and plot, I like the characters and the speed of the romance itself.

BEST SHOUNEN: GTO Not sure if its shounen or seinen but i'll put it here for the sake of argument since I don't like many shounen manga lol, if any it would be One Piece

BEST SEINEN: MPD Psycho I very much enjoyed this weird manga's story and characters I only wished they could translate all of it

BEST JOSEI: Nodame Cantabile Its the only one I've read, really

BEST NEW SERIES: Double arts Don't know any new series

MOST USELESS CHARACTER: Kazufusa from Rabuyan if you've read the manga you'll know why lol

This message is to hermit-chan... you said that shoujo would never be your thing then i suggest you read "moe Kare" one of the best shoujo mangas i've read. skip beat is also really fun to read but i just wished that the art was better.

oh yeah and there's "omamori himari" if you give it a chance as in read like 10 chapters and you don't like it whether you're a romance fan or not... i will commit suicide.lol

Actually I do read loads of shoujo..(you'll be surprised if you check out my reading list! ) it's just the whole stereotypical cliches in smut and reverse harem that makes me fed up with the sub-genre of shoujo.

i just thought i'd put my points out as well although i haven't read a lot of new mangas/manwhas recently due to exams but anyway's here's my thoughts on things. these are all english scanlated

Best overall Manga/manwha: This goes to Shin Angyo Onshi ... deep storyline, amazing art, great touch of romance and the action scenes especially a certain "two" are the best action scenes i've seen. aah and not forgetting UnbalanceXUnbalance (one of the ULTIMATE seinen romance manwha's you'll ever read), Aflame inferno and Black God. these three are all done by Im Dal young, my favourite manwha artist and forever will be.

Worst overall Manga/manwha: The World God only Knows... out of the Chapters: 4,435 Volumes: 259, Days: 35.05 of MANGA/MANWHA i've read i've never dropped a manga or manwha in my entire life... this is the first one.lol i don't want to write much about it because i'll get really frustrated.

Best action Manga/Manwha: you would probably expect me to say Shin Angyo Onshi but no because there's such a variety in it that it has to have a separate category. anyways this goes to Vagabond... but then again there's "Blade of the Immortal" wow is one way to describe it. it takes a bit of time to get into it but by ch 20 i couldn't stop all the way till ch100 and something and it's still being scanlated. there's also Claymore but i'm sure quite a few ppl would disagree with me on that one.

Best comedy series i haven't seen a lot of pure comedy mangas more like rom coms but if i had to look into my list and decide, i'd say "Zippy Ziggy" , it's new and there's currently only 9 chapters scanlated but i've laughed almost as hard as when i watched the anime "seto no hanayome" which hands down the funniest anime i've seen in my entire life. There's also "my Balls" or "kissXsis" but they're more like rom coms. i do not recommend these two to everyone because they're more adult like.

Best horror series: not seen any. if anyone wants to recommend one to me (hopefully it'll have some romance in it),let me know

Best Romance: hmm honestly i really can't give it to one manga/Manwha because there's too much uniqueness to the ones that i really like so these are my choices "Moe Kare" (best shoujo romance) , "UnbalanceXunbalance" (i will give you all my money and future earnings if you don't like it), Omamori Himari ( i think it was chapter 7, after that i was hooked) Blood Alone (WOW), Kimikiss ~various heroines (this just completed the anime series for me really well) there are a few more but i'm satisfied with these selections.

Best shounen: hmm i'd say Immortal regis or Claymore or Soul eater although it has a kiddish feel to it which i'm not a big fan of.

Best Seinen: erm this is a tie between Black God (action), Bitter Virgin (romance) Blood Alone (dark fantasy romance about vampires c'mon that's tempting enough). UnbalanceXUnbalance would take the 1st spot in this category but i wanted to include stuff which i might have not mentioned before.

Best Josei: not read any.

Best Shoujo "Moe Kare", "Koko ni Iru YO!!"" (one of the most kawaii-est girls i've seen), "Tail of the Moon" and "skip beat"

Best New Series: Not sure if they're really new but i'd say "zippy ziggy", "omamori Himari", "Aflame inferno" and "Freezing" (shitty name but it's by Im Dal Young... need i say more?"

Most uselsess Character Orihime from Bleach

Most useful Character: i've never really thought about this and honestly, even if i ponder on this for the next hour i don't think i could come up with one.lol

Fiercest Character tie, musashi from Vagabond and gennosuke from Basilisk... man that guy has no emotions.

Biggest Disappointment: hmm isn't this like saying a spoiler? i'll just say how Mx0 ended so abrubtly or the progress in "girls saurus DX"

Best overall female character: Himari from "Omamori Himari" or Kyoko Mogami from Skip Beat

Best overall male character: either munsu from Shin Angyo Onshi or Manji from Blade of the immortal. aah i almost forgot, 1st place goes to jin-ho Myung from UnbalanceXUnbalance.... the baddest, coolest and toughest mo-fo in manga/manwha ever created. read and you'll understand why. i also like how he has a few flaws which makes us as an audience be able to somehow relate to him. 2nd place goes to Kang Shichan from Aflame inferno. this is also made by im dal young so expect very similar traits.

Best male character in a Seinen/Shounen/Shoujo: erm wouldn't it be the same as above? but i'll take this opportunity to mention a few more memorable ppl. "Arata Ichikawa" from Moe Kare and Kuroe Kurose from Blood Alone.

Best Female character in a seinen/shounen/shoujo: goes to nanami Takahashi from Bokura ga ita or Clare from Claymore.

Cutest Character: as a guy don't expect me to nominate a male character.lol this without a DOUBT goes to Nah, Hae-Young from Unbalance x Unbalance, Caroline from Unbalance x Unbalance, Ha, Ji-soo from Unbalance x Unbalance, and Himari from Omamori Himari.

MOST HANDSOME OVERALL CHARACTER: yikes this sounds so gay but anyway i'll stick with jin-ho Myung from UnbalanceXUnbalance and Kang Shichan from Aflame inferno besides their character they've got a very muscular body despite being in highschool. p.s i'm not homophobic but i like to avoid writing stuff like this because well you know, do i have to say it... i'm not gay but i feel gay when i write stuff like this.lol

Stupidest villain: like someone has already mentioned, all the akuma from D.Gray-man. although if sonic the hedgehog was a manga then i'd definately nominate that fat guy.. what was his name again?

MOST AWE INSPIRING VILLAIN: villains? erm everytime i see one, i want them to die.lol but if i had to say, i'd say Yakushiji, Tenzen from Basilisk. he was one clever son of a ***** who conived and blah blah blah.

Worst hero: i really want to say Banana man but that was an old cartoon. anyway this goes to Miharu rokujo from nabari no ou... he's not really a "hero" but more of a protagonist and is one of the most annoying p**** i've ever seen.

Best Hero: okay i wanna say this in advance... PLEASE DON'T HURT OR KILL ME... what i'm about to say might shock you, anger you, throw a tantrum or make you put anthrax through my post but onegai forgive me!! okay this award goes to... *gasps* ... Naruto. okay i've said it and what huh??!! i'm not scared of all of you *hands starts to shake* i'll say it proudly... Naruto is the best hero i've ever known!!
as annoying as the manga may be at times whenever someone is in a tough spot and you really don't want that character to die, even though it's very predictable that the hero is coming,the person that i want to appear when a person is in need, i don't think of manji from Blade of the immortal, i don't think of jin-ho myung from unbalanceXunbalance but i think of naruto. i don't know why. it's just really cool to see him arrive and kick ass, especially right now in chapter 430.... WOW!!

MOST ANTICLIMACTIC FIGHT: hmm i dunno and i'm not gonna copy down what other ppl have already thought, when i see an anticlimatic fight, it just goes to the back of my mind and i totally forget about it because of how insignificant it is.

HANDSDOWN BEST FIGHT: same as another guy has already said "Miyamoto Musashi vs The Yoshioka 70" in Vagabond.

BIGGEST WTF MOMENT: honestly i'm not copying here because it's exactly the same thing as the other guy was thinking. this is from the latest chapters of naruto

okay i have to say that i'm quite pleased with what i've written. writing this message has screwed up my revision today because now i wanna read some manga or watch some anime... but i'll try to constrain myself a bit and go play some gears of war 2 otherwise i'll be on the pc till 4-7am.lol

to hermit-chan yeah i know what you mean with the whole repetitive thing. i've already made a post above but if your into romance i def recommend "moe kare" (as a shoujo one), "unbalanceXunbalance" (being my current number one romance manga) and omamori himari. , tbh i don't really check out ppl's stats on this forum because i find myanimelist.net easier to manage and put my lists up... however this site has the best info when i wanna gather info on my favourite mangas/manwha's and upcoming ones

hahaha i don't know how long it took me to write this (lol) all i know is that my bro wants to kick me off this pc soon. i consider myself as a very picky person. the mangas/manwhas i've nominated are because they either contain high quality art or it has something VERY unique it in that really captures ME. i put ME in capitals because i know ppl have different tastes. i've actually read highschool of the dead, elfen lied and watched a bit of the anime of of higurashi no naku koro ni. i didn't really find them scary but they are enjoyable to read.

and yeah all the manwhas i've read so far haven't let me down because the protagonists all seem very mature compared to many japanese mangas where the protagonists (talking about the male ones) seem weak minded or indecisive. anyway thanks for the recommendations.

p.s i'm sure you'll prob like "doubt" which is "apparently" a horror manga.

BEST OVERALL MANGA: Shin Angyo Onshi (I'm a sucker for manga like these. It reminds me too much of Cowboy Bebop)

WORST OVERALL MANGA: Domina No Do (WTF? Burn it in a fire! I don't like the direction this manga is taking.)

BEST ACTION SERIES: Shin Angyo Onshi (Ok... fine... maybe I'm a bit obsessed over it...)

BEST COMEDY SERIES: Yuria 100 Shiki (Ok... I'm a guy. I'm sorry... I can't help it! Lol. Anyways, it is a funny series.)

BEST HORROR SERIES: Franken Fran (At first I was kinda sickened out by the subject matter and some of the stuff going on... but for some reason, whenever a new chapter comes out, I have to read it, rofl.)

BEST ROMANCE: Unbalance x Unbalance (Damn... that first few chapters. That stuff was intense, rofl.)

BEST SHOUNEN: Double Arts (Someone mentioned it before, and I agree. Too bad it was so short.)
