Is there a rule that makes love triangles absolutely inevitable for all romance series out there? Because from what I read, it certainly seems so. Either the manga's whole plot revolves around the love triangle or the "rival" - either male or female - appears a bit later on and it turns into that sort of story. no

I mean sure - a jealousy is a good way to show how the two characters care for each other. But it becomes annoying very soon, especially if the person who's being fought over can't decide between the two rivals. Don't even get me started on harems. dead

So the manga I'm looking for is a romance series that doesn't resolve to use love triangles. Just two people who love each other. Or come to love each other in time - osananajimis are more then welcome. But no rival appears, no "third wheel" around - just the two and their feelings. Developing, naive, fragile, maybe not much welcomed by people around them - that sort of romance. About overcoming love trouble with the two of them, none of those trouble being "another guy/girl".

Dramas are fine, comedies are finer, ecchi is maybe, tragedy is not really. Hentai, yuri, yaoi, shounen-ai and shoujo-ai are hell no!. Completed series or running ones but only ones that don't look like they can turn love-triangle way. Would much prefer mangas over manhwas/manhuas

Many thanks in advance! smile

Something like Mysterious Girlfriend X?
Or perhaps Emma?
Or maybe Chobits? But maybe too philisophical...

Mahoraba counts as well I guess, but the romance doesn't pick up until like 70% into the series.

Ai-Ren
Aishiteruze Baby
Akkan Baby
Barairo My Honey
Boku ni Natta Watashi
Honey na Koto
Kare First Love
Koi, Hirari
Mademoiselle Butterfly
Mars <-One in the beginning, but quickly disappears.
Milk Crown
Milk Crown H!
Milk Crown Lovers
Private Prince
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen

i have many more, but they have triangles in them... though they are really rather calm and usually never out stay their welcome.

I know Mahoraba (one of the most heartwarming series I've read), Mysterious Girlfriend X, Chobits, Magico and Yandere Kanojo. But that's a lot of other series you've suggested. Didn't expect that, many thanks to all of you. smile

Love Story, Killed and Our Happy Hours. Both are considerably short, completed, but very tragic.
