Hi, I'm looking for a long running series to read, since all the manga I seem to read is done way too soon. To keep it simple and short I'm looking for a manga like Ranma 1/2 or Negima, things like that. Thank you for your time.

If you like Negima it's only natural to suggest Akamatsu Ken's earlier work "Love Hina". You'll get a lot more than a little comedy with that one, though.

It'll be helpful if you made your lists public though, so I can not repeat ones you've already read / are reading ^^ I've read plenty of romances like these~ So I might have 20+ series to suggest XD
At the top of my head, though, I can think of Hana-Kimi, at 23 volumes and completed it's my #1.
Hana Yori Dango, 36 volumes completed with an anime to go along.
Fruits Basket, 23 volumes completed with an anime too
I'm tired so I'll add in more later. -w- I better get off to sleep before I collapse on my keyboard
