I'm looking for a manga version of the Regency Genre of books (like Pride and Prejudice, and Georgette Heyer books). So, basically, searching in the Genre search for Historical, Romance, etc., isn't giving many results except medieval Japan, samurai, etc (that makes sense, but still...). Something similar to Pride and Prejudice, but can also be like Hadashi de Bara wo Fume. It can also be like Emma, even though that is in the Victorian era.

I sway away from the smut, mature, adult, hentai stuff... so, i'd rather not have that in the manga. But, I am OK with a bit of smut.

Though I am looking for a long series with good art, I'd still like you to suggest short mangas or oneshots!

Please? I've been addicted to those books, and I think it'd be cool if there were some mangas like that. Thank you in advance!

I'm addicted to historical mangas like that too!! =D

I second Antique romance, Ludwig kakumei and it's great that you didnt missed reading Emma..and ofcourse, it's a SIN to not read Godchild

Here's my recommendations:

15-17th century(?)
Crimson Cross Vampire meets three different maidens in his lifetime.
Princess <-- YOU SHOULD REALLY REALLY READ THIS.
A (long detailed) manwha on Three generations of royal family. Death, politics and romance. A must read. One of the characters made me think of Napoleon Bonaparte!
Romeo x Juliet
Night Exile <-- a lil bit of romance (maybe?)
Yami no alexandra <-- yep, READ it XD
A Kiss to the Prince nice
Vampire girl (there's a long flashback about a pair of lovers who are vampires and lived through the ages)
Kago no Naka <-- A very interesting one-shot

18-19-early 20 century?
Suna no shiro <- very good melodramatic manga
Brigit's supper <-- not really romance, but worth reading.
Alpine Rose
Lady Georgie <-- australia
Savage Garden <-- victorian era
Hijo de la Luna <-- possibly regency/victorian (not sure)
Dear My Girls <-- Victorian era
Ousama Game (OGURA Akane)

Wild west
Miriam <-- really cute

Hermit-chan did make some good recommendations. eyes

I would suggest:
Rose of Versailles - 18th century France. A classic. The anime adaptation is even better.

Shipwrecked - Set in the 1700s.
I just read it today and I think it's cute. You should try it.

*Edit: Legend of Nereid - Just finished this today.

First off, I have to admire your taste! I'm on a Heyer rereading kick myself--just finished Cousin Kate. biggrin I do tend to have some trouble with manga trying to do Western historicals, but some good ones have been mentioned here. Has anyone suggested Bronze no Tenshi? I believe that, while it's set in Russia, it's late Regency or early Victorian. It looks as though hoops have just come in, anyway.

Have fun!

Since you guys are so awesome, I thought I was being kinda said when I didn't give a normal reply. Thanks for your suggestions! Though I've already read/started reading a few of them, the other ones are really good and I've started quite a lot of them. biggrin

@ Yenoh - I've already started reading Hana to Akuma, and I think it is absolutely adorable!

@ Rainy Days - Antique Romance sounds really good, dolls; they kinda make me think they're evil..., I can't wait to start it! I already started to read Ludwig Kakumei, it is so awesome, like, Ludwig is the creepiest and awesomest protagonist I've seen! Xing Gui Shi Tian Kong De Dao Lu, which I started after Rainy Days recommended it, is very good, and one of the few Chinese mangas that have caught my interest. I started to read Hakushaku to Yousei too, it is very interesting, I'm proud of Lydia for not falling for that hot blonde!

@ Hermit-chan - I'll try to start reading Godchild soon, committing a sin is not my list of things to do. I started reading the first chapter of Crimson Cross before, and loved it, but then I forgot what it was called, so thanks for reminding me! I'll start Princess soon, though tragedies scare me a teensy bit. (teensy!) I finished reading Romeo X Juliet recently, it rocks! Yoru no Kakaku sounds very mysterious, I can't wait. The art for Yami no Alexandra looks really good along with the plotline, so I'm gonna start that soon, hopefully, if I don't get caught up in everything else you guys are recommending! A Kiss to the Prince, I started a year ago too, I think. Omae ga Sekai wo Kowashitai nara sounds really cool! I read Kago no Naka, though interesting, it kinda scared me. I finished Brigit's Supper and Ousama Game yesterday, quite the reads! I'm reading Savage Garden and Dear My Girls, they are very good. I hope to start Suna no Shiro, Alpine Rose, Georgie!, Hijo de la Luna, and the cute Miriam soon! Wanted is very good, I read it last year I think, quite worth the read. I look forward to reading Lady Victorian, but I think I'll wait till I'm a little older to read Doll Garden. ^^"

@ gwkimmy - I started Kuroshitsuji before, it was interesting, but now it's on hold, I'm gonna start that soon!

@ base_coat - Versailles no Bara sounds good, I think I might just try out the anime first. ;3

@ xanimeem - Ooh, my sister introduced Shipwrecked to me two months ago. It is very cute and adorable. Really good.

@ Alannaeowyn - I love Georgette Heyer too! I read P&P and S&S a year ago, but suddenly, last month, I felt like old stuff and watched the 1995 and 2005 movie, then read the P&P book, then wanted some more. ^^" So, now I'm onto Georgette Heyer and love her books. These Old Shades and Devil's Cub are my forever favourites! bigrazz Bronze no Tenshi sounds really awesome! I can't wait.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. biggrin

Hm, none of these are actually Regency.
The only romances I've found that are actually set in the Regency time period are based on Harlequin novels marketed towards fans of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyers: Lord Calthorpe's Promise and The Word of a Gentleman.
There's also Mozart wa Komoriuta wo Utawanai.
