i think there is a thread like this but didnt really fit what i looked for

Im looking for a action manga with a calm strong clever male main character.

He doesnt have to be strong and clever but at least should be the calm, quite typ of character not some hyper active character like naruto.
supernatural would also be good but i dont mind if there isnt.
maybe romance also, or even just slightly hinted
i dont think something like this is in a shoujo so dont recommend them

no historica/no yaoi/ai...../good art (or at least not bad)

thoses i manage to think of right now:

the 2 i think u'll like:
-Black Lagoon: The main character is calm and clever for sure and even if he isn't exactly strong he manages to use his own strenght and it's quite an action packed manga. The relation between rock and revy is also pretty interesting too even if it can't be exactly called a romance.

-Samourai Deeper Kyo and Code Breaker: 2 works by the same author featuring the same type of main male lead character. The first one focus on a samurai as the name implies,a pretty strong and badass one. And the second is about a "law enforcer" so to say with pretty much the same characteristics and personality,both features supenatural and a bit of romance. Basicly if you like the first you'll like the second....


2 others that crosses my mind but not exactly action manga:
-Pretty Face and Mx0: The same type of hero for both stories (same author....) not your typical idiotic,pervy,etc... shonen character. In both cases he is rather calm,strong and clever for Mx0. Both also features a romance and Mx0 is supernatural (about magic and stuff...). Well it's more focused on comedy than on action though,don't know if you'll like it.

-Code Geass: Lelouch of the rebeillon: Well i don't know if you count this one as an action manga but the male lead is DEFINITIVELY (very) calm and (very) clever. If you have ever read Death Note, he can be compared to Raito.

well bleach fits your request perfectly though i have trouble recumending it because i personaly could not stand it though to its credit a lot of people like it and it definitly had good character development.

i liked young gun but to less chapters
as for hoshi i think its to much comedy there though the main character fits.
angel .. i dont like the art and judas is gender bender so i didnt start read it.
nabari gives of shounen ai vibes especially the main, hes to girly imo

something like psycho buster would be good

persona 4 is also cool but to less chapter

is there any manga with a main like kyon from suzumiya haruhi?

You can try Trace, though it's a manhwa, (very) slight hint of romance is present...

i dont dislike manwhas i think most of them got better art then mangas so id prefer manhwas if there are any more interesting

Ok so many have already been mentioned but I'll try to add a few more.

Banana Fish - states it's shounen-ai but don't be put off. They have no romantic feelings for each other, just very close friends so I'm not sure why it's shounen-ai.
Vampire Juujikai
Kaze no stigma (light novel)
Shounen Mahoushi - though I would say thi is more calm and strong than calm and clever.
Break Blade - again more calm than clever but may suit your needs.



Not really action but calm clever male protagonist

Sanctuary
Yasha - based on only 3 chapters currently scanlated so may not fit.

I know you only asked ofr action mangas but I´ll recommend some who aren´t anyway.

Action:
Vampire Juujikai
Hoshi no Samidare

Non-Action:
Gamble Fish - The manga contains conflicts which are solved through gambling (any type of gambling)
Akagi - A dark style gambling manga, the art is an eye sore in the start but you get over it.

Sport-Manga:
One Outs - Its about a Gambler who starts baseball, and he is the "bad" type.
Giant Killing - Main is going back to coach his old club, He is smart
Baby Steps - In sports manga the main will eventully (usally) face someone who bases their game on Data, and that is what the main in this one does.
Kuroko no Basuke - He is calm, not strong and not specialy cleaver, but he realy is special.
