Yeah, I know there are categories. I tried them out, but there are few stuff categorized as "Foreigner" and "Gaijin". Mangas like Historie aren't in those categories, but are tagged with the country name and I tried some (like Greece, France and America). I also browsed the forums, but I didn't find much about what I want, so I thought you guys wouldn't mind me asking here...

So... I love reading about the perception of foreign people about my country or any other country. I'm always amused when people ask me if I can play soccer, if I can dance samba (the answer for both is no lol), and stuff like that. Different cultures are interesting and always make good stories. smile
I want mangas with foreigners in Japan, with Japanese people in other countries, or set up totally in foreign places.
If you're able to found anything about Latin America (I only found one about Peru and I'm still looking for the raws. There's also one called First Girl, but I haven't read it yet) it'll be really nice.

I don't mind yaoi (there are one about a yakuza guy in a cruiser and a italian captain that I already know), yuri and hentai. I have no problems about genres, I can read anything.
I've already read some popular titles like Baccano, Rose of Versailles, Historie, Saint Seiya...

Thank you very much for reading. And I apologize for the misspelled words.

Well, if you don't mind anime, you should try Michiko to Hatchin. :]

<-- my avatar's from it.

It's a fictional country with lots of references/comparisons to South America.

(But yeah, not many -- actually, practically none - manga take place in South America.)

Maybe Pet Shop of Horrors and its sequel Shin Petshop of Horrors fit. The first is about a Chinese guy in (North) America, and the next is about the same guy- only this time in Japan. It doesn't focus very much on the cultures of those countries- but I'm sure you'll like it; it's a great manga.

If you liked Historie, you'll want to read Vinland Saga.

I'm sure there's more, so I'll come back and let you know if I remember anything else.

Edit -
I hope you'll find something from here that you like;

The Ravages of Time - About the Three Kingdoms period of China. Set in China, and involves warriors from that country.
Dangu - Set in Korea, but there are people from other East Asian countries too, I think.

Monster - Germany and other parts of Europe
Fullmetal Alchemist - Europe
Trinity Blood - About the Vatican, Italy and Europe in general. But I wonder whether you'll like it, 'cause it's set in the future.
Cantarella - Renaissance Italy
Kenja no Ishi - Medieval Europe

Shirley - About an English maid.
Please, Jeeves - About English aristocracy- very funny.
Count Cain and its sequel GodChild are set in 19th-century Britain.
Kuroshitsuji bears some similarities to Count Cain.
Fredward-shi no Ahiru

Shoukoku no Altair - A nice unique one about Turkey.
A Night of a Thousand Dreams - The Middle East

Roureville - America
Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru - America, again.

Magician Brothers Syd and Lid - Not sure about what country it's set in, but it sure isn't Japan.

calstine has done an excellent job of listing many of the titles I would have suggested!

But here a few more featuring the perceptions of foreigners that I think you'll find interesting, i.e. foreigners in a country not their own, who are perceived differently because of it:

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée - perfect example of what you're looking for
This Love is a Secret - lovely art, but slightly unrealistic cultural cues
Ikoku Irokoi Romantan - ridiculous, but funny (I think you know of it already)
Shipwrecked - pure awesomeness
FAKE - half-Japanese, reluctantly gay cop in New York bigrazz
Castilla - very cute
From Eroica With Love - pretty much specializes in around-the-world adventures

Enjoy!

Thank you very much tartufo! biggrin
From Eroica With Love is a work that I'm sure I'll love (and I saw people recommending it in many threads, so it must be really nice!). I've heard about FAKE, but I never felt like reading it. Since you recommended, I'll give it a try. smile And Ikoku Irokoi Romantan is really ridiculous, but in a nice way! biggrin
I didn't notice Ikoku Meiro no Croisée while browsing... I wonder why! confused But I'll read it now. smile Thanks!!

The Prince's Cactus is about a Taiwanese woman who visits Greece, although there's not too much about Greek culture specifically. It's mostly about "foreigners".
The One is about a Taiwanese model. It starts out in Taiwan, but she does move to other countries, including USA.

If I recall correctly most of Eden is set in South America, even if it's a futuristic setting...

I was thinking of Ikoku Irokoi but you've already read it... I'll see what I can remember.
Meine Liebe - Germany (the anime is probably the best).
A Night of a Thousand Dreams - Middle East, but the stories within the story are from all over the world and each one is a fantastic story.
Candy Candy - WWII times, mostly in Europe.

I liked most of the yaoi from the Middle Eastern category:

My favorites were Oki ni Mesu Mama and Honoo no Suna.
