If anyone could tell me what to title this that would be nice. Anywho on to my request. Please ask if I ain't clear, this request is hard for me to explain. Okay, I'm looking for a manga where one of the main characters shows another main character a world he or she has never seen before, or life. I can't think of a manga but, think of a reserved kid who spends all his time in school and does what he's told (nerdish), then someone else appears in his/her life and shows him/her he nightlife and all that goes with it. Don't limit yourself to that though, it can be really extreme cases to what I'm saying.

Okay a good amount of drama and character development would be really nice. Standard shoujo plots, and man love are no nos.

Hope you can help. I really suck at explaining myself.

Umm, do you mind shoujo-ai themes? Because if not, Girlfriends (MORINAGA Milk) fits that plot perfectly. And no, the world opened up isn't the world of lesbians.

I have read MAR. It kinda fits, but no one lead him to the world. He was kinda thrust in.

Suprised nobody even mentioned Shakugan no Shana the manga is mostly been jumping between groups but the anime series itself has two complete seasons and a movie/ova if your interested.

Hmmm:

Buddha when it comes to having ones whole way of life cange and others (this is Buddha after all). It just takes alittle while to get to that big change.
One Piece If you're in the mood for a big huge adventure.
Konjiki no Gash Bell. As the main charcter wasnt social and not a people person, but that all changes after he mets Zatch (Gash). Its something to read when you want to read something fun and funny.
Noritaka For when you want to read something with the main charcter being weak and then being shown the way of a martial art and being coming strong kicking some tough guys asses. Its a pretty funny and just awesome series.
Homunculus When you're in the mood for something mature and strange.
Rookies When you're in the mood for a sports manga that really good and fun.
Ryuuguuden When you want to try reading something strage, differnt, and just not something that you have ever read before.

That and all the other ones that i listed are worth checking out sometime aswell.

My 2 cents:

World Embryo I think it's my best recommendation I can give. Maybe not so dark as Tsukihime, but good if you like Moriyama style.
Mirai Nikki a little crazy though.
Elfen Lied if you don't mind blood and violence is a nice read.
ES it's an interesting manga about a guy who has superpowers and tries to live as a normal person.
Hikaru no Go this could be a strange recommendation, but I think Sai offers Shindo a new world (the Go player world). It's a marvellous story even if you don't care about board game. I'm not a fan of shounen, but this is one of the few I liked very much.
