Hello All,
It's been a while since I've read a truly touching romance manga (I've read a lot so I'm not surprised) and I would like some recommendations for what to read next. My favorites are the ones where the main character has something tragic happen to him/her or a loved one, and the relationship helps them in some way. Some examples of this would be:
Sunadokei
Bokura ga Ita
Silent Love Song
Flower (Wada Naoko)
Nana

I made my reading lists public so you could see what I've currently read. I have a lot on my "currently reading" list but on the majority of them I'm waiting for the next chapter to come out
cry which is painful. In addition to these I have also read a story where the heroine is about to tell the guy she likes that she likes him, but ends up going on a date with another guy who gets hit by a car and hurts his leg and then she feels obligated to be with him (I can't remember the title!) I also read that one about a girl named Aoi...who moves to the city from the country and she gets cancer (it was a very touching love story but I cant remember the name either!)
No fantasy or supernatural elements please embarrassed or heavy smut. I usually don't like shounen either...I prefer both shoujo and Josei.

Thanks so much!!!!

Does anyone have any more suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

Taiyou no Uta
I'd say Ai-Ren. It's exactly what you want and exactly what you don't want.

Hmm... how about Hoshi no Koe? Though it's seinen (which I happen to ignore), it's really good!

I also believe the manga you've forgotten the title of are Kimi ga Suki (first mentioned) and Mucha Kucha Daisuki (second mentioned).

I recommend Cry Out For Love At The Heart Of The World, the oneshot Isshun no Tsuki, and Renri no Eda. Koizora is also a very sad series, but the actual japanese drama and movie are far better than the manga because unlike the drama and movie the characters in the manga are quite off putting and the mangaka has changed the plot and character outlines alot.
