What I mean by this is a romance yaoi that`s NOT just about sex( though there is a lot ;D) and the uke and seme have a really strong relationship. But nothing like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, where there`s nothing but drama! :0
I like the kind what you begin to wonder if your reading a yaoi at all, since it seems to be just shounen ai, where they kiss n` things, but never get too deep. But then you get surprised by what happens next ;D
Anyway, PLEASE nothing that has like a hundred chapters! A fairly long one shot or a few chapters( like not going over 10) will suit me just fine. It needs enough time to develop a plot and for you to become used to the characters personalities, but not making read forever just finish it.

You might like Super Lovers. They have a really cute relationship and then hot things happen and you remember that it's yaoi. xD

Probably Junjou Romantica same author of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi but better plot also Kaori Mochi's Seito Kaichou ni Chuukoku <- Personally one of my favourites. They are long mangas but it really develops the relationship in the long run. Check it out if you have time ~

Maiden Rose is my favourite yaoi manga of all time. Intense plotline with romances hidden within the couples heart due to their position.

Sakura Gari would be my second best. Dramatically romantic and...tragic.

I really hate yaoi manga which just centre about having sex like Glow Vampire.

Hm, lemme see. I also like Unlucky Strife and more of yaoi manga by Mishima Kazuhiko-sensei.

Oh, and I also like ALL yaoi manga done by Inariya Fusanosuke. Love her art. Love her plots. Love her every works.

Ok I know you asked for a short one but I just have to say this. Totally Captivated, it's 6 volumes but it's well worth your time. You HAVE to read it. An absolute amazing yaoi.
Next one I'd recommend is Cut, 1 volume and really unique. I loved it and re read it like 5 times already. Never got me bored. Also Loveholic - Renai Chuudoku by the same mangaka.
Boku wa Kimi no Tori ni Naritai is a good and unique one too. But not really worth re reading it. It's still good though
Corsair too! Though there are people who say it's not good and the uke is a cry baby but I really liked it. And uke is not a cry baby. It's a really emotional manga so the uke doesn't just cry for anything.
There's this series about 3 couples that I liked too. They're completely different couples but somehow connected to each other, Zettai Unmei Houteishiki and Tsumasaki ni Kiss and Gravity Eyes.
Oh oh oh, two really good shounen ai ones that I liked are Seven Days and Slow Starter. I'm not really into shounen ai but I really liked those two.

Some other thing, by "not just sex", do you mean you don't want smutty ones? Cause I have some more but they're still pretty smutty though it's not all sex.
And do you mind rape then love kinda thing?

Well, must I list Kohitsuji Project. Not really explicit scene there but only tiny hints of yaoi there. Hm, but still lovely.

As for one shot, Unexpected Love is the best ever read.
