Well, I dunno if there's even a manga with this set up but whatever.

So I'm looking for a standard shounen romance manga where the main character is cool, handsome etc etc.. Just think about love hina, Ichigo 100, I''s and replace the main characters with characters w/c have the mentioned qualities.

"Hana-Kimi" & "Kare First Love" come to mind.

Fist love is real good, but Hana-kimi is slow... yet ironically enough, the ending feels rushed. It's not a bad ending, just.. feels rushed.

Jam is looking for shounen romance....as in a story told from the guys point of view though there are exceptions like Aishiteruze baby which is shoujo...everything you just mentioned are shoujo manga

I'll take a look at my list and be back...

EDIT: Ok, looking through my list I've come up with a few shounen/seinen romance manga but in some they're of a secondary priority...

I'd reccomend Mx0 but he doesn't qualify to be "smart" though he is clever, you're choice though I definitely recommend it if for the lulz

Double Arts - has the potential
Yubisaki Milk Tea - not really sure on this one
Highschool of the Dead - also has the potential
Open Sesame
Umi no Misaki - highly recommended to your specifications, he's at least not stupid like other protagonist in harem romance
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu - you're best bet, the coolest guy you'll ever find in an ecchi shounen romance manga. He knows what he's doing. watch the anime if you've got time...it's way ahead anyway

Well to me the one who's more similar to what you request is probably Ranma 1/2. Except for the fact that he can turn into a girl I think Ranma is a pretty cool guy.

Other ideas:

Ai Kora he's not handsome at all, but he's sorta of cool, he's not a wussy at least.
Midori no Hibi same mangaka, same as above.
D-Ash it's not a shounen, it's a seinen, but I think you should give it a try anyway.
Full Metal Panic he's definitely cool, but he has no sense of romance.
Superior it's a shounen, but it's from the girl POV (style is also shoujo-ish). But he's cool. I don't think it fits very well, but maybe you can have a try.
Fate/Stay Night sort of.
Chrno Crusade sort of. There is not so much romance, but Chrno is cool and I suppose the adult version is also handsome.

I know, some of them are very disputable. It really depends on your concept of cool and handsome, if with handsome you mean a bishounen, than you can forget them (except maybe for Superior). If you just wanted some guys with a dorsal spine because you're tired of wussy lead, then you can give a try to some of them.
