just a random thread, but im if anyone out there has a manga/manwha that they really like, but isnt that popular, or they dont think many people have heard of it or read it.

i dunno i just started this thread to see if any interesting "unsung heroes" of manga pop up. so if you have that one manga in the back of your mind, that you think more people should read, just spit it out.

I dunno what's popular and what isn't.... opinions on this forum may not reflect actual readership in Japan.

Anywayz... I think all works by Asano Inio are pretty underrated.... he should've won a Nobel Prize for literature by now, IMHO.

Mushishi is one of the few titles that will be relevant even if handed down to your grandchildren.

Other underrated/unsung series include Sanctuary, Blood Alone and Gunslinger Girl

Lots of underrated one-shots.... most published by Ponent Mon (do a google)... they've got some really great titles....one example is Jiro Taniguchi's The Ice Wanderer and other Stories... which I just ordered.

If you're looking for a "typical shonen" underrated series.... maybe Kekkaishi or Ga-rei

And Yotsubato! will always be underrated... even if the whole planet reads it.

#BTW.... This feels like a repeat thread.... there have already been "Most Underrated" and "Most Overrated" threads here, me thinks.

Good shoujo if you wont mind is Kirai though the art is very crap.

In shounen, I like Belmonde le VisiteuR which is finished but I am guessing it will have a sequel.Kiseijuu is really good too. Have you read Mail which is a spin off of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service?

although the title is misleading, i didnt mean it like that. this isnt about quality vs reading figures. i just wanted people to list a manga or two that they really like, and want other people to read.

kinda like when you see/read a good manga/book/show/whatever and you want to tell your friend that he/she needs to read it, its really good, ect. you know what i mean.

i just couldnt think of a more appropriate title at the time

Well, my list is public so if you wanna you can check my manga rated 10 or 9.

If you just wanna know some underrated/not so well know manga, I can say Kurogane for sure. And maybe also Kurozuka, Aishiteruze Baby, Crossroad, Vampire Juujikai, Spiral. It depends on how much "not so well known" you want it.

I second Belmonde the Visiteur. Also Hotarubi no Mori E is a good shoujo.

Blaster Knuckle Ending is pretty sudden, seeing as it got canceled, but this manga is pretty good, and fairly unheard of.

RAVE - I love it though don't hear many talk about it. (guilty pleasure i guess?)
Naked - I really enjoyed it, though I have no idea why.

I second Sanctuary, Blood Alone and Gunslinger Girl wholeheartedly, and throw in Rubbers 7, Usagi Drop and King of Thorns. There's also Wolf & Spice, but I'm not really sure how (un)popular it is - it already has gone from light novel to manga, at any rate.
