Big THX @ Lorska, Tripitaka, ImaginaryWishes, Tsubamex, redlinks, reid1, ListeningDaisy, silencecomes, Sorcha, Lelouch22, aoiko, strixflash, Meer2703, CuthienSilmeriel and hisui87!

My next series will definitely be those out of this pool

@reid1:

Gunslinger Girl, for my taste, had very little (varied) plot, and the whole theme about lolis being brainwashed and tormented didn't add much to it other than shock factor. Once you know every girl's background and see how they interact with their observers, it got quite dull, since nothing much happened from there on. Sorry, couldn't explain it better, and don't hate on me, please ;]

Here are some of my absolute favourites (various genres)
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Faster Than A Kiss
Kuroshitsuji
+Anima
Nurarihyon no Mago
Ikoku Meiro no Croisée

I also have a particular fondness of the manga by Emura, so you may want to check them out too. smile

Nothing much happens? Whatever. Every event that happens later is related to a real Italian event so probably a foreigner would not understand my absolute adoration of that manga. Still it remains a masterpiece to me. But I can hardly get how "nothing happens"
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
since characters are almost introduced in every volume and people start dying in every volume of the 2nd half of the story. You did read it until Enrica's, Jean and Jose's sister, death in the flashback? Because that's kind the focal point of all the manga
. There is also a big reference to Monster in vol. 12 I believe, since Urasawa has been one of the most influential author on Yu Aida. It was a cliché but it was very nice for me seeing a masterpiece paying his tribute to another masterpiece.
I just found weird you voted 9 Monster and 5 Gunslinger Girl, that's all. I won't hate you (maybe, lol).

What, nobody mentioned Ran to Haiiro no Sekai ?
I think it's a masterpiece. Just don't stop when Outarou is introuced, he's an real ass but that's what makes the manga interesting^^
And the art is breathtaking.
