maison ikkoku ive heard it described as the best romance ever(that might be an exaggeration, but it's still pretty great)

Check out Matsumoto Tomo's stuff, they're pretty awesome. Nodame Cantabile, Superior, and Blood Alone too.

Video Girl Ai was one of my favorites, but that was at least five years ago when I first started like manga. So maybe it's not as good as I remember. I should probably look back at that series. Ryo is another good title. Oh, and I second Maison Ikkoku.

Kare Kano is a great one.
