1) Any manga where the main character or one of the main characters has a code of honor of some kind that heavily influences how they live. Think Kuwabara and/or Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho.

2)Swordplay, but with an interesting swordsman. Doesn't necessarily have to be swords, any weapon (or even bare fists) will do, as long as the character is interesting for some reason (I'm using the word interesting pretty loosely here. If you can think of something to suggest for this one, then by all means post it). Examples include kenshin from Ruroni Kenshin, Musashi from Vagabond, Veritas, Shamo, Ares, etc etc.

3)Action manga(s) featuring some sort of specialized skill that gets developed by the main and/or supporting characters of the story. There's a lot of variation in this type of thing, such as alchemy from Fullmetal Alchemist, magic in Mx0, Id and Mahou Sensei Negima!, hell even the maken from Maken-ki kept me entertained for a lot longer than it really should have. In particular magic.

4) Another really solid action/martial arts manga where you can observe a character growing stronger over time. HSD Kenichi, Shamo, Veritas...those are pretty much the best examples I can think of.

5) A couple pretty decent psychological thrillers. I'm leaving this one pretty open-ended, hit me with something surprising.

6)Something like Love Hina. Pretty much fell in love with that manga. I'm not saying something within the same genre, but rather a manga that has the same sort of 'feel' to it. I'm having a hard time describing this one=/

If any of the above are vague then let me know and I'll try to clarify. Greatly appreciate any and all responses, and thank you for your time.

Those threads might help...
You should try using the search function, since there are more...

For the second request.

Action seinen

More of that.

For your psychological thriller request.

I've exhausted the search forum feature (at least I think I have), and my method for searching by genre is pretty much narrowing it down to a single genre and browsing through those that have the highest rating.

I'll review the threads you suggested though, thanks for the help.

I haven't read the last two suggestions for the third request, I'll start reading them shortly. Thank you.

Maybe if you added more genres to it, the search would be more effective.

Wouldn't adding more genres narrow the search, rather than expanding it?

Hmm... lets see if i can help here

For ur #1- Freesia, it's really on the mature side and the main character is kinda crazy but he has a code that influences him, this can go for ur num 5 too

#2- Id, great swordplay and u'll love the characters right after starting to read.

#5- Dragon Head, ES, Pluto... i can't think of anymore right now but i can think of more later.

Hope none of these r on ur reading list aready none

Okay I'll try my best but that's pretty varied, lol. A couple of these might overlap into a couple of criteria so I'll blend the action ones together.

Action
Angel Sanctuary - Different swords and types of magic are the main weapons
Chronicles of the Cursed Sword - Sword, Action, Magic, Character growth
X - Action, Swords, Magic
07 Ghost - Magic (or a sort), Character growth
E's - Psychics
Zero - Psychics
Vampire Juujikai - Spiritual and demonic power
D.Gray-man - Exorcists use different weapons. Character growth.
Psychic Academy - Psychics
[m]Kaze no Stigma (lightnovel)[/m] - Elements used as weapons
Witch Hunter - Guns used and magic
Fairy Tail - Magic, Character Growth
Immortal Regis - Necromancy, Swords, Character Growth
Shounen Mahoushi - Sorcery
Number - Guns used by assassin.
Phantom Wizard

Psycological
Death Note - Not really a thriller but a good psycological manga.
Count Cain - Again not very thriller. Poison used quite a bit.
Nijigahara Holograph

Okay so I tried to list as many as I thought might fit so Ihope it helps. Since you like magic I listed all the magic/Supernatural powers ones I could think of since I love those type of manga myself, lol.

I've now read the following.

Kekkaishi - Didn't really seem to be anything special at first but it grew on me.
Eden* -
Zetman
Shin Angyo Onishi* - I've seen so many people recommend this, but I just couldn't get into it..
Vinland Saga - Great
Hunter x Hunter* - same as shin angyo onishi
Busou Renkin
Kurohime
Jack Frost*
CAT*
Deadman Wonderland
Freezing
Kiseiju
Gorio
Veritas
Holyland
Xblade
World Embryo*
Alive - The Final Evolution
Freesia * (That guy was seriously fucked up)
Soul Eater (Amazing)
Rabbit Doubt (interesting but at the same time tedious bigrazz)
Psychic Academy - Was pretty good, felt like a rushed ending though..
Immortal Regis - Amazing.

* = I either didn't like it, it couldn't hold my attention for some reason, etc etc

I've looked through the lists that you've all suggested and nothing else is really popping out at me. If you can think of anything else that might fall into any of the above categories, let me know. Thank you all for your suggestions.

I'm sort of craving a martial arts manga where the protagonist gradually gets stronger. Granted, that's a horribly generic brand of manga, but if you can think of any that are a pretty good read then please hook me upbigrazz
