hi everyone
atm i'm looking for a good long manga with a large amount of chapter(200+) and a well developed list of characters perhaps i'm just inept but the only ones i've found so far are:

Bleach- i liked the battles and the characters
Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi- the battles are awesome and the humor still gets me
Naruto- still amazes me as a manga with such varied and awesome side characters but whos main characters are whiny uninteresting and just downright annoying(naruto, sakura and sasuke)
One Piece - Best manga ever

would prefer shonen but anythings fine(cept the usual yaio thing)

Nurarihyon no Mago - I love this manga, is something between Bleach and Naruto. There are only 100 chapters out, but it's still ongoing so it could drag and drag...untill over 200 chps since it's popular enough and they also plan to release the anime version in July.

Rurouni Kenshin - might be a little obvious. It's 28 volumes long, not sure how many chapters though. It's completed and also has an anime. BTW avoid the OVAs, they don't follow the story and they suck big time.

Until Death Do Us Part--its seinen but i think you love this one. So far there has been 98 chapters out and it doesn't seem like it will finish any time soon so it should be good enough. Got excellent pacing, badass characters, awesome art and good action.

Beelzebub---another awesome manga and this one is shounen. Only 58 chapters out but i m pretty sure this one will be a long one. Again it has a badass lead and really good comedy.

Sorry didn't exactly follow your request since you wanted 200 plus but these are being updated on a regular basis plus they are awesome so I thought i should suggest it.

Shounen -
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
Beck
Q.E.D.
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Hunter X Hunter
Violinist of Hameln
D. Gray-Man
Wild Life
Slam Dunk
Eyeshield 21
Prince of Tennis
20 Seiki Shounen and 21 Seiki Shounen

Seinen (But I hear they're very good) -
Team Medical Dragon
Vagabond
The Ravages of Time
Kaiji

And as for shoujo (just thought I'd add this since it's the longest-running shoujo I've ever seen)
Glass Mask

I know this is seinen but it's really good.

Berserk And I second Vagabond... it's awesome.

Shounen: Yakitate!! Japan

Flame of Recca

Maybe Full metal alchemist

Hajime no Ippo

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Kekkaishi

I don't read shounen much anymore but these might suit your demands. I don't know though 'cos I'm just pulling most of them out from my Unfinished lists, based on my memory of how long they are and based on what others said about them.

Ares
Claymore
Shaman King
Mugen no Juunin
Basara
Gintama
Gantz
Air Gear

I haven't read any of these ('cause I hate long-running series); I just recommended them by length and listening to people talk about how good they are. I can personally attest only to the length, not the quality of the story. Air Gear in particular has a record of having waaayyy too much ecchi.

I just remembered another two; Samurai Deeper Kyo and Get Backers. I didn't read them because of the ecchi, but they're both long enough to suit your needs. The story-line of GB is quite good as well.

Seconding Hunter x Hunter -- best manga ever!

Also reccomending: Shaman King, Rave, Project ARMS, Prince of Tennis

These are in the high 100's: Black Cat, Hikaru no Go

The following series are around 100 chapters, but the chapters are longer so reading them would take roughly about the same amount of time as a series with 200 chapters: Claymore, Fullmetal Alchemist, Alive, Soul Eater

Can't believe no one would suggest Dragon Ball so I double checked but I still didn't find it...
Found it when I checked for the third time so I'll just second Dragon Ball.
