Goong actually has a very well known live action adaption and is as "famous" as it is horrible... I'm sure there's many obscure manga on your list, but that really stood out on a quick scan lol.

Hmm... Off the top of my head, probably P.A., Hajimari no Niina and Migawari Hakushaku no Bouken. I'm not sure if Ashita no Ousama counts as shoujo, but I would recommend it as well

The pale horse it is not fully translated but it is promising.
Clover (Clamp) it was so captiving and magicial for me, art is awesome.
NG life One of my favourites, starts off as a comedy, gets serious after; about reincarnation. Kuro Bara Alice I am not really sure about this one. Different.
Again!! Actually a shonen but has a shoujoish side I think.
Heptagon Short but nice.
Kimi no Sei Cute.
Ultra Maniac I read it a long time ago, and liked it vey much back then.

I would suggest these^^ Also, you are asking for not famous shoujos, but we can't know what you have already read, or what degree you see them as famous. You should better make your lists public.

I know you said no gender bender, but would it help if the person disguising his gender is the guy? Like in the case of W Juliet? Or maybe Tokyo Crazy Paradise (this is by the same author as Skip Beat, and the reason behind the 'gender bending' completely different from the usual 'I need to because I want to get into so-and-so club/school... I would highly recommend it. )
