I'm on holidays and I need to get through some good manga while I actually have time to do so. I'm open to most things, but I'll list what I like and don't like to narrow the choices. But if there is something you think was awesome feel free to suggest it cause I don't know what I like half the time and I like to try new things.

Things I don't want: Yuri, Yoai, hentai etc. I don't really like tragedy, because well, it's too depressing.

Comedy: Is always good. On that note I didn't like Angel Densetsu or GTO. I'm presuming my taste may be off there. I did like Yotsubato!. I like when there is a good mix of comedy in any story.

Romance: Is also good. In adventure types, I like the romance to support the story rather then be the focus of it. I don't really like straight forward or predictable romance. I hope you can get an idea of what I meant by the manga I've read.

Shojo: I love
Oresama Teacher
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Karakuri Odette
Natsume Yuujinchou
Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume
Tenkuu Seiryuu
Good solid characters and plot, range of genres. Something a little different.

Shonen: I have liked
Pandora Hearts
Ann Cassandra
Bara no Maria
Hand x Red
Kekkaishi
The World God only knows
Sengoku Strays
Soul eater
I like things that are a little different, but the characters are the main thing. I want to get attached to them.

Reverse Harem: I have a soft spot for these but I think I have read/am aware of all of them. If be same mircle I'm not, then go ahead.

Characters: I love my characters, so I want them to be unique and interesting. I can get into any story if the characters are intriguing enough.

As long as it is partially scanlated (even if it is only one chapter) it is fine. No one-shots. I'm looking for manga specifically. My list are open so you are free to look.

Thankyou, especially if you actually read through all that^^

Not in any particular order.
Hana to Akuma-This one is very fluffy, so maybe it would "straight forward romance"? I know you don't want that, but this is a very good romance :XD
Hetalia: Axis Powers
Joousama no Inu
Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri
Sugar Family
Ten no Ryuu Chi no Sakura
Hanatsukihime
Orange Planet
Arakure
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei-Not sure if you'd like this since it's messed up humor >.>
Amatsuki

You can also take a look at my lists I guess. I have a lot of shoujo-y stuff in there that you might also like aside from these. (I'm a sap XD)

Yaoi isn't that bad once you get used to it. Sure at first you'll grimace and stuff, but once you get over that its funny as hell. Then again I've got a warped sense of humor. laugh no

Well I've pretty much read everything anyway, so beggars can't be choosers.

Hanatsuki Hime - great plot, characters and exquisite art ;
Kanata Kara - an older manga so the art may seem a bit off, but the story is one of the best I've ever read (actually reread many times) ;
Mugen Spiral - a comedy that has good plot and art, but it's kinda rushed or incomplete. still I recommend it ;
Beast Master - really cute shoujo ;
Charisma Doll - another cute shoujo, I like the fact that the heroine has a strong personality ;
Crossroad - this one is a drama, but it still has its comic moments ;
Tokyo Crazy Paradise - this is a gender bender, therefore the comedy is assured since most gb are comedies

PS: all this mangas are completed

if you liked Karakuri Odette, try Akuma to Dolce
some good romance would be:
Mars
Dengeki Daisy

seinen:
Shin Angyo Onshi
Yumeka Sumomo/Sahara Mizu's works.

Thankyou for all the replies smile I've been circling around some for a while so now I just have to bit the bullet and read them. I usually enjoy the ones I put off, but it's good to have someone say they are worth it.

Edit: And I don't really mind Yoai, it's more I can't take it seriously because of the common conventions and it does tend to throw me.
