Hi everybody!! biggrin
I'm looking for something new that is interesting, well, obviously.
To be more precise, I'm looking for something fresh and new in concept and is somehow unique because I'm kinda tired of school settings and BS romances that leads you in circles just to get a conclusion of "and they lived happily ever after".
I don't really have any preference, but here's my list of manga I'm currently reading and I think it might give you a good idea of what I read. http://www.mangaupdates.com/mylist.html?id=155396&list=r ead
Thanks in advance!!! biggrin

Hmm, maybe try Kanojo o Mamoru 51 no Houhou?
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha?

Idk. Nowadays, it's so hard to find something unique lol. If you want to, perhaps try something out of your comfort zone? :/ (Looking at your list, you read shounen mostly but that's due to something obvious >.>)

Hmmm unique series?

I would say Pandora Hearts - crazy and mysterious plot ^^ Oh, and Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna - really inteligent series smile

Maybe Katekyo Hitman Reborn!? I mean, it's one of those loooong shounens (if you doesn't mind them) but the whole concept of being the candidate for the mafia boss is something i haven't seen before (but you must survive through the first 7 "introduction" volumes).

Dengeki Daisy if you're looking for romance (which isn't annoying) with a really good and complex plot outside of it.

And... did you read Fruits Basket? (you probably did, but whatever ;D) - my all time favourite with a really unique plot in my opinion ^^

It's kinda hard to not have a list full of shounen nowadays as most of the popular mangas today are pretty shounen, or "shounenesque" (can I use that as a real word?) biggrin

My friend recommended me this one, but I kinda don't want to read 300+ chapters -_-

I did, thank you very much for bringing that up biggrin, and it is probably one of the more interesting shoujo that I have read, but not one of my favorites.

Also, thanks to you guys for responding so far, I promise to get to reading your suggestions!

Well~ I would deffinitely suggest reading outside the shounen genre as Akai.no.sora suggested. I looked through my lists and picked out the ones that really stand out to me, and are just really... unique.

Shoujo
Adekan
Tenkuu Seiryuu
Issho ni Neyou yo
Coelacanth
Hanatsukihime
Kingyo Sou
Tom Sawyer

Josei
Dokuhime
Shounen Hakaryuudo

Shounen
Nabari no Ou
Shoukoku no Altair
Teiden Shoujo to Hanemushi no Orchestra
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
RustBlaster
Shiki

Seinen
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan

Anything by:
TAKAGI Shigeyoshi
Aki

Hope that was helpful, and that you at least enjoy one of those series!

Not very revolutionary when it comes to romance but Gyon-Woo & Jik-Nyu is pretty cute.
And you can try Little Little, it's textless and has a few chapters but also very cute.

Trinity seven maybe? the male lead has a really refreshing personality biggrin
Also, I'd suggest The legend of sun knight: rarely laughed as much as with that one.
they're both relatively new series that run monthly though, so there aren't that many releases yet.

Steins;Gate

I found it quite interesting because of how the whole time manipulation thing was handled. Great MC imo. There's also an anime, though your best bet would be the visual novel if you're into that and can read Japanese.

Well, of course I'd recommend my top ten.... I'm pretty sure I reviewed all of them, so you can read my thoughts about them in their MU pages.

I'll just list some of my favorites that I don't see on your list.

Shoujo
Ludwig Kakumei - fractured fairy tales. Also check out YUKI Kaori's other work, Angel Sanctuary or Count Cain

Antique Bakery - four men who work in a bakery, (not yaoi, but one is gay).

Ouran High School Host Club - It really is funny

Stroke Material - smut romance. What makes this unique is that it's told from the guy's point of view.

Beauty is the Beast - non-typical shoujo romance.

Tokyo Crazy Paradise - you've probably read this.

Shounen
Bus Gamer - unfinished manga by MINEKURA Kazuya, the creator of Saiyuki, about three strangers who have to form a team to compete in a mysterious and dangerous game.

Mushishi - Ginko is a mushi master, a man who travels the country taking care of problems caused by mushi, which are sort-of spirit insects, I guess. Episodic, not set in a definite time period, as the people don't seem to live in modern times but Ginko wears modern clothes.

Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei - OK, this is a must-read.

Josei
Baby Pop - after the sudden death of her mother, a teenage girl agrees to live with the new stepfather whom she barely knows. In lesser hands, this would be a taboo romance, but it transcends the cliche. Mangaka of Kimi wa Pet.

(these will take you out of your comfort zone)
Aisuru Hito - woman is involved with two brothers at the same time, and it's a comedy

Midnight Secretary - dedicated secretary will do anything for her boss - including allowing him to drink her blood.

Seinen
Saint Young Men - Jesus and Buddha in modern-day Tokyo.

Monster - psychological mystery

Maria Holic - I wasn't too impressed with the manga, but found the anime to be better. It's probably more like the other things on your list than anything else I have read.

Planetes - Garbage collection in space. I saw a couple episodes of the anime and have heard good things about the manga.

One Pound Gospel - early work of TAKAHASHI Rumiko, recently completed. A young boxer falls for a novice (nun in training). He doesn't have a good grasp of the 'celibacy' idea.
