It seems that my manga consumption exceeds the amount of scanlation available for shounen and seinen manga.

I am currently looking for Shoujo/Josei manga that has little romance anhd focus more in different theme. For example Ghost Hunt.

Thx in advance

Try:

Petshop of Horrors and its sequel
DOLL: IC in a Doll
Sugiru Juunana no Haru (by Ghost Hunt author)
Dolls (Switch by the same author is shounen)
Natsume Yuujinchou
Monochrome Factor (if you like action)
0 no Soukoushi (and Yuki Kaori's other works)
Usagi Drop
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo - Akai Hitomi wa Shitteiru
Honey and Clover (there's a lot about art and college life. and protagonists are guys)

Though it's a shounen, not sure whether you have read it: Shinsengumi Imon Peace Maker. The style is pretty distinctive and different from the usual shounen. Hope you don't mind historical. It's my favorite shounen.

Akuma to Love Song There doesn't seem to be that much romance in it yet, it's more psychological i suppose.
Crash!
Crimson Hero
Dengeki Daisy Idk about this, whether there's more romance or mystery...but i do recommend it
La Corda D'oro
Oresama Teacher

These are all shoujo and seem pretty typical, so i don't know if you'd like them, but i would recommend them, because they seem pretty unique to me smile

Fairy Cube
Vampire game
They both have romance but the story mainly revolve around other stuff.

And for something which is not a shoujo but share some traits with that genre I'd say Superior and Gunslinger Girl.

to add a few more:
heptagon - interesting oneshot about self-enlightment, memory loss etc. A must read
Liar game - feels josei-ish to me. It had a RL drama adaptation a few years ago.
Flat (AOGIRI Natsu) - usagi drop/My Girl variant. Listed as shoujo confused

Else why not use the MU search function? Just pick any series with a good rating (depends on your cutoff, say 8) and you're all set to go. Here:josei -romance or shoujo -romance

Forever Honey sad A cute father-daughter oneshot.
Try Amatsuki too. An interesting and action-oriented Josei.

I second Dolls.

I suggest any manga by YUKI Kaori. Also:

Hakushaku to Yousei
Arisa
Kagen no Tsuki - Sorta
Mayonaka no Ariadone - Possibly
Honey Bitter

Maybe Basara? @_@

Byakuya Zaushi
Clover (CLAMP)
Omae ga Sekai wo Kowashitai nara, Fetish or anything else by Fujiwara Kaoru
K no Souretsu

umm...

Yamada Tarou? well...can't say there's much of a focus on anything except yamada's ridiculous miser-liness lol.

I would recommend checking out Storm in Heaven's projects. Most of their projects listed as shounen are actually technically shoujo or josei that have a more shounen "feel." A good number of their shoujo projects are focused on something other than romance as well.

You might also want to try Ichijinsha's Zero-Sum and Ward lines, which are largely shoujo/josei with romance kept to a minimum.

Definitely second what wolf wrote in the post above ^^ , Those magazines host a good selection of titles . As well as Storm in Heaven's scanlated titles .

I'd suggest some titles by Midorikawa Yuu, especially Natsume Yuujinchou (check out the anime too wink . This manga too is among Storm in Heaven's projects btw . Pretty good if you're into superntural/folk stuff, a-la Mushishi) , and most of works by OKAZAKI Mari] and MIZUSHIRO Setona (in both cases even when ther romancre is one of the main eleements, it''s usually handled differently than the norm. Some completed works by Mizushiro are Diamond Head, Afterschool Nightmare, X-Day, The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (warning: this last one is a josei with a malexmale couple [result? a very plot&character driven yaoi, mature in the true and best sense of the word and not only because of the 'naughty bits'.. ] ).
Some old school shoujo titles by TAKEMIYA Keiko also fit the bill, like the sci-fi Terra e... (check the 2006/2007 anime series for thiis too ).
Try also Fever .

BANANA FISH - Unlike any other shoujo you will ever read. Takes place in New York with mafia bosses, drugs, political conspiracies, guns, enough action to make you wonder if it may just be shounen, but then emotional moments for you to think otherwise. Amazing amazing series.

Hyakki Yakoushou - if you like the supernatural feel

Flower Shop Boys - Five orphaned boys who manage a flower shop. Extreamly cute and heart warming tale.

Flower of Life There's something special about this series. Great if you like character drama and slice of life.
By the same author:
Antique Bakery
Ooku: alt. universe + historical taking place in feudal Japan. Instead of men, women rule society (doing the men's job). Quite interesting actually.

Kimi to Boku - another slice of life, focusing on fours boys (and later a couple more characters) who have been with each other since childhood.

Gokusen - sort of like the female version of GTO. Female teacher who has to hide her background of being the daughter of the yakuza.

Kimi ni Todoke A larger focus on friendship than romance. And when there's romance, it's genuinely adorable (though not much of it - very slow progress [or kind of not at all])

I always kind of thought old shoujo was awesome. There's seriously nothing like it, so if you're interested check out Hagio Moto's oneshots: They Were Eleven - found in Four Shoujo Stories, Slow Down, and Hanshin. The first two have a great kind of sci-fi feel where you really don't know where it's going, and the last one just kind of conjures up emotions which you didn't expect.

She's one of the women part of the 49ers who was revolutionary to shoujo manga. Check them all out *cough*TAKEMIYA Keiko, IKEDA Riyoko*cough*, they've got some amazing stuff.

I'm also going to put out From Eroica With Love, a gay art theif chased around the world by a NATO officer (and sometimes they just meet by coincidence). Pretty entertaining.
