probably hear it too often, but can anyone recommend a light hearted comedy/romance that isnt just like a gag manga and has somewhat decent art?

i just read all of vagabond and finished Shin Angyo Onshi as well as some other tragedy mangas. so i want a change a pace from how depressing shin angyo onshi was, and that also looks decent.

any recommendations would be great

Yotsubato!.... it wasn't in your lists.

It ain't romance, but if you don't feel good after after reading this, then you're probably a retard.

If it has to be romance... then try one of the many shoujo oneshots.... like Beast Master, for example. I also recommend Love Roma, a hilarious seinen romance.

If you're willing to try shoujo:
Lovely Complex
koukou debut
Gokusen though light on romance

Um, otherwise:
Love Hina
Genshiken
Yanki-kun to Megane-chan
MiXiM♀12
The World God Only Knows

Forgot about Love Roma, but second, and if you like it, try The Hating Girl

Yeah.. I guess I don't read too many of those...
Anyway, I second Yotsubato!- sweetest most loveable manga ever, that doesn't read with anything besides comedy and life of a silly green-haired girl roll eyes

You can also read Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou It has little comedy in it, but very peacfull, and I wouldn't say depressing, but it can make you feel both sad and excited...

Not sure about that one, but maybe Chokotto Sister ?
Haven't read to much of , so I can't really tell..

Reaching You is really sweet and funny. It's the kind of manga that you'd want to read if you want to smile.

Azumanga Daioh, by the same author as Yotsuba&!. No romance, but a good light-hearted read.

Angel Densetsu and GTO are titles you would read if you want to be laughing a lot. Each has some romance in it as well.

i 2nd the following mangas:

Angel Densetsu (doesnt have decent art by your standards though probably)
Reaching You
Beck
Kimi Wa Pet
Nana (but is this considered light hearted?)
Nodame Cantible
Strobe Edge
Lovely Complex
Koukou Debut
Genshiken
Beast Master

and i'll add the following mangas:

Hajime no Ippo
Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Si-Do
Spicy Pink
Ghost Hunt (can get serious and dark sometimes though)
Moyashimon (dont let the cover fool you the art is good)

I find most of YOKOYAMA Mayumi's mangas like Shiritsu! Bijinzaka Joshi Koukou, Galism and Aitsu ni Koishita Yottsu no Wake really cool.
