So... I recently was looking for manga with short girls and someone recommended me Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen! (thank you by the way everyone who recommend me titles! I'm super grateful) but anyway, I really enjoyed the whole different culture/ethnicity dynamic they got going on in there.

So I'm looking for more mangas like that, with eventual romance between 2 characters from different ethnic/culturally/ geographically different backgrounds.

I'm not really looking for social class difference more of a difference in cultural lifestyle/appearance/ geographic location prior to meeting. Other than that requirement pretty open to anything :3

BUT!~ Extra special points to anyone who knows of a manga with such a dynamic but set in the historical japan edo/meiji era- sort of a foreigner with a japanese native theme.

Similar titles to what I'm looking for include..

Home
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen
The Bride of the Water God -somewhat... more of other worldy sort but similar

Thank you so much

Red River - one of those "travel to a new world" stories
Hachimitsu no Hana - more focuses on the servantxmaster theme, though
Kanata Kara - new world that actually gives depth to the fact that the universe is completely foreign to the main heroine biggrin

Hadashi de bara wo Fume takes place in the Meiji Era. If i remember correctly, the male is a half-japanses and half-french.
Under Grand Hotel prison love story between japanses and black men. it's a hard yaoi though. Toriko Aigan Shoujo, lolicon meiji era smut.

Ikoku Meiro no CroisΓ©e by Hinata Takeda (also known as the illustrator of the Gosick novels)
During the second half of the 19th century, Europe became intrigued by the Japanese culture. A Japanese girl named Yune travels to France, where she started working in the lower parts of a town in Paris at a craft store called Enseignes du Roy. She and the store owner named Claude communicates with each other in order to get over their cultural differences. This is the story of Yune's stay in Paris.

Lady Mitsuko is a great one based on a real romance.
That Summer is a nice oneshot with this theme.

Oh, and all the awful sheikh/gentle English lady Harlequin manga out there. Some that have been translated are The Sheikh's Contract Bride and The Sheikh's Reluctant Bride.

Saitou Chiho does some of these. Waltz wa Shiroi Dress de springs to mind for the historical aspect.
