I'm new to the BL theme but my god...its addictive ! 😲 okay so im curious as to what are some really amazing shounen ai or yaoi mangas out there. Firstly i'd like to make clear that i don't like the hardcore yaoi's that are kind of just pointless sex on every page, it's to much for me to handle nosebleed i'd like something with a good plot...but that doesn't mean i don't want any **action ** 😉
I love supernatural/fantasy mangas but i'll be open minded and say that real life ones are fine too as long as they have enthralling plots. I like my mangas to have at least over 3 volumes if possible and art is **very **important, i love beautiful art especially when it comes to BL ! swoons okay so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated ! !!

i second seven days and silver diamond
sakura gari is a good first yaoi, but i wouldn´t rush it
i think gravitation and junjou romantica <- they have anime, too
complex is a good yaoi with much story, but there are two chapters with shotacon
i often have heared from people that glamorous lip was their first yaoi, and it´s really good (and from the same mangaka as kuroshitsuji)
after a while you should try okane ga nai <- 4 episode ova
be careful if you find the shounen maid Curo-kun OVA because it´s more hentai then yaoi
and stay away from those with bara tag because most of them look like Hige to Nikutai

Finder Quite a hardcore yaoi, but it does have a story, and the art is just to die for and the smex scenes will defo give you a nosebleed, but hey it's good to have too much of the good stuff, anyway maybe you'll like.

I'll try to suggest things that haven't been mentioned, but I have to second Haru wo Daite ita, ViewFinder, Gravitation, and Totally Captivated. These are the titles that I think get mentioned over and over again, with good reason.

Mangaka to look for:
NITTA Youka Nitta-sensei draws men who look like men, albeit fabulously gorgeous men. Haru wo Daite ita is the title everyone reads, but my favorite is When a Man Loves a Man, about the interconnected relationships of men who work in host clubs. This is not Ouran High School Host Club.

MIYAMOTO Kano Her stories are slice-of-life, usually touching and sometimes bittersweet. She has several long multi-part series, my favorite of which is her already mentioned Rules universe. (You can find a chronology in the record for Hydra.) I think a better place to start with her work is the one volume Make Me Happy and the story collection Name of Love. If you don't like these, I'll give you your money back!

MINASE Masara My favorites are Toiki Yori mo Yasashii and Uso to Kiss, but I also like her shorts and other works. Stunning semes and beautiful ukes.

FUJIYAMA Hyouta My favorites are Rakka Sokudo and Honki Ja Nee Kara.

You asked specifically for Fantasy, so here goes:
Yami no Matsuei by MATSUSHITA Yoko has been called "the gateway drug to shounen-ai". It's not yaoi or even shounen-ai, no sex or kissing, but there's an awful lot of hugging going on for supposedly straight guys. Filled with beautiful yet masculine men. More horror than fantasy, but the protagonists are shinigami.

Now I'm going to add 2 titles that I really liked, but which I'm sort of doubtful about recommending to you because of the art. I suggest you ignore the cover image on the series info page and read the first couple chapters of each before you decide.

Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru - Deals with some interesting issues and is much more thoughtfully written than most BL out there.

Concrete Garden - Yes, I know it's only 1 volume; but this is the most creative shounen-ai manga I've ever read. Don't mind the cover - it gives a very wrong impression - I assure you that there is no shotacon content here.

OMG i just had to let you all know that i've started reading Totally Captivated and omgg ! It's so amazing !! KYAAAA! i love it so much ! completely addicted but i dont want to finish it to quickly because i don't know if its scanned often? but so good !!! the guys are totally gorgeous !

Totally Captivated is completely scanlated at six volumes, so don't let that stop you.

I loved it, too. I wasn't expecting funny and sexy and hot, but it's all that, plus yakuza, what could be better? Ewon has a nosebleed moment imagining Mookyul um, dressed a certain way, and my reaction was the same as his.

just finished totally captivated and it was sooo good ! Loved every moment of it, i don't read a lot of mangas to the end and i just couldnt put that one down 🙂 so glad it was a happy ending ^.^ thanks everyone who requested that one, i've started the summit and so far im liking !
