*shrugs* It's fabulous, top quality, one of the best-but still very much shoujo. Plus it kind of is all about the romance-or at least the relationship-vbetween Risa and Otani even though the actual romance is low key and played for laughs.

Haven't read them yet, but FFlame of Recca (33 volumes and completely scanlated) and 3X3 Eyes are on my wish list 'cause they seem to be a good mix of plot and romance.

Oh, and I love the romance in Naruto-but it's barely there every 200 chapters.

Lilim Kiss <== even though it's only 2 volumes, they're very very long and has a good story.

One more time~ Shoujo, shounen, etc. are the demographics of the magazines where the manga originally appeared. Whether anyone would "consider" something shoujo isn't really relevant, what makes it shoujo is the magazine it originally appeared in. Lovely Complex was in Betsuma, which is a shoujo magazine, therefore it is shoujo.

Flame of Recca is a great read, but there's very little romance in it, mostly fighting.

*shrugs* I think for the purposes of recommendation it's okay to break away from the definition and discuss how much the source actually fits the demo-'cause it could very well be what the requester is looking for, even if it's technically not supposed to fit. That's why with respect to this discussion, I think it's more important that Lov*Com is very stereotypically shoujo than that it fits in the shoujo demographic. That's why my complaint is worded that way.
(and yes, I know this goes far off topic and warrents its own discussion)

For example, even though DNAngel is also shoujo, I think it's not a bad fit for what the OP is looking for, even though it's romance heavy, so while I may not rec it, I don't think I'd add much of a note if someone else did. Yes, it's shoujo, but no flowers.

Ah! My Goddess
Ai-Ren
Air Gear
Basilisk
Blood+
Chocolat
Chokotto Sister
Ga-Rei
Gacha Gacha
Girlfriend
Hakoiri Devil Princess
Hatenkou Yuugi
Hatsukoi Limited
Inu Neko Jump
Kodomo no Jikan
Mirai Nikki
Sekirei
Superior
To-LOVE-Ru
Yubisaki Milk Tea

Well, some of them just have a tint of romance, but they're still good manga.

Try to think out of the box, when looking at some. xD

Hmm if you liked Chrno Crusade, you could try Trinity Blood. It's pretty similar, has some delicate romance development even though it's not labeled romance.
Also:
Crying Freeman
Sanctuary
( they are not easy lectures, though )

@fatalkeyv - read what people write in here. Chobits was recommended.

Sorry for the delay on reply (internet problem -.-).

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions, I'll try to respond to many I can bigrazz

Quote from story645
There's a manwha by net comics called Zero/Six (or some variant thereof) that's six volumes (complete) and I think has what you're looking for. Only warning is that it takes a few volumes to get interesting.

Quote
Lovely complex (finished but not fully scanlated yet)

It's also shoujo, which is what the op didn't want.

Buso Renkin - I found the romance a little sloppy, but it's not too bad.
Eureka Seven - have only seen the anime, but it did a brilliant job balancing romance and plot, and from what I've read the manga isn't too different although it goes in a different direction.
Wolf and Spice is really new and has pacing that's on the mellow side, so not the most action packed, but it looks to actually be going somewhere.
I figure you've already read it, but what about Melancholy of Suzimiya Haruhi? (Though I happen to like the novels more than the manga, but the adaptations are pretty accurate.)

Well, I obviously know Haruhi, I love it.
For Eureka Seven, I've to watch the anime when I'll find the time.
I'm really curious about this Zero/Six (I tried to read manwhas not so long ago but for some reason I didn't get hooked with them, except for Ares, which I simply consider a masterpiece). From the summary I found on a site, it looks like the futuristic version of "Mamotte Shugogetten" (lol). I'll give it a chance. Hope the scans will get complete soon. smile

I read the first volume of Flame of Recca a long time ago and I didn't really liked it. I liked 3x3 eyes anime, but from the number of volumes I can foresee that I won't like the manga so much, so for now I will keep myself to read it.

Romance in Naruto? I've missed something? laugh

Read it. If only Kawashita had longened this one and shortened Ichigo 100% they could be two great manga... -.-''

Well, thanks for the effort biggrin
I know most of them and I'll give a try to Basilisk that it's only one complete that I didn't read.
OT: I love Mirai Nikki, it's sooooo underrated.

Np. I love Lolis XD. Already reading KnJ.

Yubisaki Milk Tea is the only one I'm not reading, it seems good, if only I hadn't already following so much...

I fansubbed Chobits many years ago and swear upon a God that I'll never read/watch/listened to it. XD Sometimes at night, when I don't manage to fall asleep, I start hearing Chii singing "Let me be with you" in my head and it scares me to death!

To bad TB is still running. Sanctuary looks good, I'll try it when I'll want something more deeper. Thx.

That's probably gonna make me a lot of enemies here bigrazz, but I don't like Adachi's drawing style, so I didn't read very much of him.

Again, thanks to everyone who replied.

Not like Adachi!?!? sad

Well, it looks like you only want completed manga, so I'm looking through my list right now.

Angel Sanctuary - it's shoujo, but it's got lots of action, not that much flowers, etc. And I know it's supposed to be about incest... but it's still very good.

Battle Royale - it's got some romances, but personally I don't think they're done that well, since the main focus of the manga is action and violence.

Eternal Sabbath - I think I remember it having some romance.

Great Teacher Onizuka - it's one of my favorite manga. And I'm there are tons of romantic relationships in it, although they're mostly between side characters.

Kiseijuu - great manga. I'm not sure if it's what you want though because there is almost no focus at all on the romance between the main character and the girl he likes.

Living Game - I can't remember it that well, but I know that I liked it and that it focuses on a romance.

[m]Nausicaa[/m] - again, I can't remember it that well since it's been so long since I read it. I *think* there was some romance, but I *know* that it's a great manga.

Sirius no Kizuato - it reminds me of GUNNM, but not as gritty, or as long.

Anyway, I hope these recommendations helped.

im not sure if it was mentioned yet or what (i read the whole thing if it was already posted srry dont kill me eek )

but how about Pretty Face it by the same author as Mx0 is completely scanlatted and although most of it is about the romance it also has some pretty good action and i suppose you could adventure or mystery in there (im not too sure bout this but decide after reading) since they are looking for a missing person

Mahoraba is another one it is not completely scanned yet but they only have 2 more chapters to go so just wait a while and itll be done, it is very romance based but it also has some very serious details in it i suppose it might also fit the Psychological genre especially near the end

D-ASH is also very good it is again romance centered but it also has sports and Psychological aspects this is one i would definately recomend it is complete and fully scaned

Genshiken is one of my alltime favorites it is mainly Slice of Life Romance is one of the aspects but not the main one it is baisically about the humorous events if the Genshiken's every day life i recomend this to ne one that hasnt read it yet

And now for a classic Kimagure Orange Road a classic again it centers around romance but it it also has supernatural stuff and again the trials and tribulations of every day life

I appreciate that they are all complete ^^.

They are all good manga, except BR (I don't like it) and Sirius Scar (well, it looks a little mediocre to me, but I don't remember it well). Angel Sanctuary is on the other hand too long, it starts good but the story keep dragging and dragging.
Eternal Sabbath and GTO are really good ones ^^.
I don't know Living game, the votes on this site are not very good about it (maybe cause it's old?), but if you suggest I'll consider it.

Thx again.

Pretty Face: read it and enjoyed it.
Mahoraba: one of the best sketches/comedy manga ever.
D-Ash: read it and enjoyed it. That's how a sport manga should be and not that crap of Suzuka. A really good romance story.
Genshiken: How could I not to have read The Holy Graal of otaku? That's definitely a must.
KOR: a true classical.

Sorry, read them all, but they were really good suggestions. ^^

Planetes and Blood+ come to mind. While neither is a romance both have romantic elements.

Caska and Gutts from Berserk are probably of my favorite straight couple, but i wouldn't read it just for the romance.
