What I consider to be action-romance would be either shounens with more than usual romance, or romance shoujo's with some action and not too many harsh cliches.
My art preference is... well... I like smooth art, good solid/dark lines.
I really like Iris Zero's art, and also its story line even tho i wouldn't say its action.
I REALLY don't like "sketch-like" art and/or "huge eyed" shoujo's....
So best examples I can give for "action-romance"/good art would be:
Dengeki Daisy
Good Luck, Demon King!
Rave
Edit, want to add these now that i've been reminded of them:
Double Arts
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Chrno Crusade
Edit: I liked the art for Magico but I'm not a fan of the stupid romance. or anything under the tag of "idiot couple"

You could give a try to Ookami to Koushinryou, the romance is slow, but it's pretty nice.
Also for awesome art I'd say Otoyomegatari.
Sorry they're both seinen, hope you don't mind.

Hmm... Maybe Chrno Crusade? It has good art, lots of action and romance as well. Hope you like it.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime (cool and bloody)
Sugar Dark (dark romance, cool ending!)
Superior (very nice overall)
Usotsuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Ma-chan Totteoki no Uso (pshyco and dark)
ES (mixed feelings about this one, but you can se what you think)
Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners (horror/triller and my meaning is that this one is a epic love story)
Deadman Wonderland (bloody and sinister as hell)

although there are lots that i've already read and absolutely love (Double Arts, Chrno Crusade, Mx0, Akagami no Shirayukihime to name just a few), there's also tons i've added to the list x)

Immortal Rain - a shoujo action adventure manga that reads like a shounen one
Ashita Dorobou - looks promising and the art is good, though there are bits of mature content
Maybe:
Change 123 - I'm not sure about the art, but it has a decent romance and lots of action. It's ecchi, but the manga is not all that bad.

Carnivorous Princess Yegrinna - Shounen
Girls of the Wild's - Shounen and Web Comic
Kurokami - Seinen
Popcorn Avatar - Shounen
Taboo-Tattoo - Seinen
They are all tagged ecchi but it's very mild... not nearly enough to become annoying I think...
