So I just started reading manga a few months back and I'm finding it tough to find ones I like. I read fairy tail and it is by far my favorite, I liked that it had a large range of characters and the magic portion was enjoyable. I tried one piece and bleach and I just couldn't get into them (something must be wrong with me). So I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions. Thank you all very much

The closest in style to the ones you've already read would probably be:

Onepunch-man
Psyren
Black cat
Kingdom (mc's a bit like natsu)
Magi
Fullmetal alchemist
Blue exorcist
The breaker
Hunter x hunter
Code: breaker
Blood lad
Nanatsu no taizai

If you want something darker I suggest:
Deadman wonderland
Aphorism
Area D

Want to try something completely different but still very good, try:
Vinland saga
Liar game
Gantz
Dogs: bullets & carnage
Uchuu kyoudai
Kuroko no basuke
Highschool of the dead

Noblesse Starting is slow and kinda boring so don't stop there. Art greatly evolves later on.

666 Satan and Shirogane no Karasu are similar to Fairy Tail. I'll second Rave Master as well.

Kieli and Fullmetal Alchemist are also action-packed adventures with fun characters and a beautiful storyline.

Akusaga is an interesting action. Getting farther from Fairy Tail here, though. bigrazz

How far did you read into One Piece? It starts slow but at a certain point it gets better.

I second this. It's a slow start but it gets SO GOOD. It was one of my first manga (well, technically it's a manhwa), yet it's still one of my favorites after all this time.

Yanki-kun to Megane-chan has no magical parts, but it made me crack laughing and the characters are quite likeable and have a various range, so maybe it will be worth a look? The same goes also for Oresama Teacher.

And, if you don't mind a more serious setting, then I would these days definitely recommend Gangsta. without hesitation, because the storyline is absolutely well-paced, the characters introduced in a refreshing way and the whole atmosphere in my eyes catchy. ^^

I've been reading for a year and a half, here are my earliest ones (all shonen):
Cage of Eden
Beelzebub
Mahou Sensei Negima!
Love Hina
Kami nomi zo Shiru sekai
Nagasarete Airantou
Baby steps
To love-ru
Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!

Half of them are harem, sorry bigrazz
Try one chapter of each, they pick up from the first chapter itself
I too started with fairy tail and found bleach slow, then I tried different genres and finally found that I can like bleach
So sift around a bit biggrin
All these have lotsa characters, esp. Kami Nomi

I second this.
One Piece gets better with each arc. Well, Thriller Bark was slightly worse its preceding saga, but it wasn't bad either.

You should take into account that OP started out 16 years ago. Oda was basically a newbie then. Now he's the best selling author of all times - there's a reason for that.

Someone mentioned Rave - it's Mashima's first long-running manga. It's not bad, but it's definitely worse than Fairy Tail.
IMO, you could compare it to the first years of One Piece - not great, but not bad either; and Fairly Tail it more like that One Piece after the few first years. I actually remember me and some of my friends thinking that Fairy Tail was some kind of spin-off for One Piece, when we first saw the original double-spread poster.

~~
Anyway, other than One Piece, these are great series:

- Tower of God - first few chapters (floor 1) are a bit boring, but it gets better fast
- Kubera - first season was good, the 2nd one is great
- Beelzebub
- Ao no Futsumashi
- Bakuman - some parts were better some worse, but generally a good read - a lot of info about manga creating business
- Ares - art requires getting used to, but overall it's amazing
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Monster Hunter Orage - another series by Hiro Mashima, a monthly one. Ended too soon.
- Claymore
- Veritas - if you like martial arts
- The Breaker - like above
- Immortal Regis
- Psyren
- D.Gray-man - stopped reading it when it became monthly, too much change, IMO. It still was a good read.
- Blue Dragon: Ral Ω Grado Quite interesting, though short series.
- Mx0 - just when you really start getting into it, it ends sad
- Nurarihyon no Mago
- Soul Eater
- Superior
- King of Hell
- Berserk - you need a strong stomach to read it - for both, a lot of gore and the long wait for new chapters ^^;
- Shingeki no Kyojin - hmm.. haven't actually read it yet - I'm currently watching anime though. I'll probably read it right after anime ends.
